Two runs driven in on a clutch opposite field hit by John Jay, Goldy piurposely walked . . . and Lamb strikes out against a lefty.

I disagree with letting the lefty power hitter (all or nothing) Jake Lamb hit against the lefty closer in that circumstance. All we needed was a single to tie the score or win it.

I know it might have put us in a bind if we went into extra innings, but what did we have to lose? Unless there was no righty hitter or infielder left on the bench. If that was the case, well, Lamb should have been taught to bunt for a base hit.

Damnit, I wanted the sweep. But I'll take the series victory.

Jon Jay had a slow start when he came to the Dbacks but he has lit it up the last few games. Good trade so far.

Yeah, they lost, but glad they fought back at the end to almost tie/win the game.

Greinke (5-5) took the loss Wednesday as the Diamondbacks fell 5-4 to the Pirates, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks over 4.2 innings while striking out seven.

The right-hander threw only 58 of 101 pitches for strikes en route to setting a new season high in walks, and this was the first time all season Greinke didn't complete at least five innings in a start. He'll carry a 3.87 ERA into his next outing Monday on the road against the Angels.
