Two runs driven in on a clutch opposite field hit by John Jay, Goldy piurposely walked . . . and Lamb strikes out against a lefty.
I disagree with letting the lefty power hitter (all or nothing) Jake Lamb hit against the lefty closer in that circumstance. All we needed was a single to tie the score or win it.
I know it might have put us in a bind if we went into extra innings, but what did we have to lose? Unless there was no righty hitter or infielder left on the bench. If that was the case, well, Lamb should have been taught to bunt for a base hit.
Damnit, I wanted the sweep. But I'll take the series victory.
