Apparently Whis cut into some players (by name) in the locker room. Dockett alluded to this :

Called out?

Apparently, the training room is too populated. After the game, Dockett vaguely recounted comments coach Ken Whisenhunt made to the team after the loss.
“Coach got out a lot of things today that I obviously wanted to say to some guys,” Dockett said. “He called out some guys in the training room that we need on the field. We need them. So hopefully the message got to some guys.”
Just who drew that ire is anybody’s guess. The only players nursing injuries for an extended period of time are cornerback Greg Toler and tight end Todd Heap. Guard Adam Snyder has missed just a game, and running backs Ryan Williams and Beanie Wells are not roster eligible.

Well he needs to do something.

If Whiz's loses the team, he must realize he is in hot water.

Whiz and his system has not been too impressive since Warner left.

Unless I am mistaken his win/loss is at .500 right now, and his best buddy is under a lot of scrutiny

And what exactly is Whiz record post Warner?

17-23. .425

Still around 100 points better winning percentage than Green, McGinnis, or Bugel. But below Stalling's record in Arizona. (12-15).

Can we fault the guys on the offensive line? It's one thing to be called out for not doing your job. It's quite another when you have career jouneymen, rookies and third stringers who should be on the field trying to play at the NFL level.

Now for the defense, what happened to Adrian Wilson and Rhodes the past two games?

Whiz mentioned tackling in the presser. I would not be a surprise if he let Peterson, Gay and Fleming have it, calling them out specifically.

Further, I bet we use one or two of our allotment of "padded practices" this week and work on tackling drills. Probably one because it is a short week.

I'm sure with Beanie Wells and Greg Toler healthy we would have won the game. :sarcasm:

How about calling out the guys who laid an egg. The guys who missed tackles, overthrew open receivers and generally did not try hard enough.

It wouldn't shock me.

It WOULD shock me. If I'm a defensive player and the head coach who is in charge of the offense continues to run that dreck out on the field, I'm not going to sit there and get called out.

Also, Whis hasn't lost this team. Dockett specifically mentioned that he was sorry that he and the rest of the team were letting Whis down. Said that Whis is a players' coach and they're all with him.

OT: when has this team ever had a non-players' coach?

I am not trying to be argumentative, but I can't remember one.

Gene Stallings?

Buddy was a players' if you played defense.

Whiz was unhappy Heap didn't play a couple weeks ago and he still hasn't played so I assume Heap is one of the guys. The question is why does he think Heap would make a huge difference?

He might make a huge difference giving the Tackles some support on the edge.

There doesn't appear to be any proof that he was calling out injured players. Like someone else said I would bet he laid into the secondary considering they completely laid an egg in this game.

Where I disagree is it seems more of Whis's style to harp on the talented players who are missing plays vs. harping on the players who just aren;t that talented. Yelling at D'Anthony Batiste is like kicking a puppy, but yelling at his talented secondary players for not doing their jobs totally seems in line with what Whis preaches.

Maybe, but I don't believe that William Gay or Jameel Flemming are that much more talented than Daryn Colledge, who has had his fair share of bad days.

Honestly, if I were on this defense, I wouldn't be taking a lot of flak considering that once the team goes down 10 points, the game is more or less over. The defense has done a remarkable job in changing the culture so that they're okay with having to hold opponents under 17 points for the game as their job, but plenty of teams have been riven when the difference in production between two units has been this pronounced.

The entire O line.

PP tackling

Paris Lenon- everything

Skelton

Fleming

Gay

Dan Williams - this dudes a bust.

CC has been nearly invisible

DD same as CC

Carter

Eason

Thats all I can think of. These arent just this game, but all year. On one hand I agree, but on the other, 99% of this teams issues are QB and Oline. How can you call out an entire team because your FO cant put talent on the field? Our O line is a patchwork of Garbage and thats Graves and Whiz' fault.

Because he'd be on the field and not parked on the bench?

That would entail Whis even acknowledging that his tackles are are God awful, and need the help... something he has scantily proved to anyone, even people who have even an elementary knowledge of the game.

That was the whole gist of his message. They talked about it on the radio - some players said Whis had called some guys who were still 'nursing' injuries and that they needed them ON the field.

I don't see how Heap would make that much of a difference (but maybe he does?) Toler has also been nursing an injury - him they could definitely use on the field.
