Shamet was on the court 14 minutes in game 1. He puts up one shot and granted he made it. So either he's not being aggressive which he is suppose to do as a backup shooting guard or the Nuggets are shutting his a** down. If they are shutting him down he needs to see bench. If all 5 players on the court performed at that rate for over a quarter (12 minutes) of the game we would have less than a 15 point quarter. How many games can be won with that type of productivity?
Did you miss the part where either KD or Booker is on the floor at all times?

Why would anyone want Shamet to shoot more, to confirm that he is bad at it? We already know that.

Cam Payne needs minutes, he can legitimately score at least some times, same with Warren but I don't think Monty will put him in the game for some reason. And yes we also need either Ross or Lee to hit some 3's, I don't think either are great options, but really it's the only other options we have.

I get the frustration with the bench, but they aren't going to suddenly become something they just aren't.

Yeah I don't think the Suns will turn the ball over like that first game. I look for some better ball handling this time. Durant is not going to turn it over 7 times like last game.

The Nuggets hit some very difficult shots & of course our defense lack that game. We need Book and Durant will be ready this go round. And they will. Come on bench follow up too. We will recover game 2.
Durant tends to turn the ball over when he's defended physically. Prior to the start of the series their coach said they were going to do just that.

Why would anyone want Shamet to shoot more you ask?
The reason Shamet is here for $10 million per is to shoot the rock. That's what he was brought here for. Not just to take up space & be unproductive and eat up court minutes. 10 points in 6 playoff games currently. He should be criticized just like Ayton is. At least Ayton will tease us with an occasional good game. When has Shamet done that? And are you saying if Book or Durant on the floor then Shamet shouldn't shoot? If he is on the court with Book & Durant then his opportunities should expand and he should shooting and of course make more because of the Nuggets focus on the Book & Durant.

We can all agree the Suns bench is flawed considerably by poor management's lack to put together a better bench. While Lee, Ross, and Warren can probsbly score at times they aren't defensive players by any stretch. Now maybe Shamet gets nod for the minutes because he can handle and play a little better D.

Maybe Durant, Book and hopefully CP3 play out of their minds, Suns need to cut down the the turnovers, keep the Nuggets off the offensive glass and Ayton and the bench finally earn their keep and show up & compete with the Nuggets for the Suns to take game 2. Go Suns!!!

It's all well and good for Shamet to shoot in the regular season. It's really not in the playoffs.

You have to maximize efficiency and there are at least 8 other players I would rather be shooting than him. Nobody including Shamet himself thinks he deserves the contract he got at this point - but that has nothing to do with anything. I think his confidence is shot, and there is no way he doesn't know the fans hate him. It is time to try someone else. Just don't expect much to change.

I am not endorsing more Shamet minutes, my point is if you think there is someone to replace his minutes and get much better results I think you are mistaken.

All this talk about Shamet is a distraction.

The difference between him and anyone else we have on the bench is not that much.

The only way we can win this series is an extreme focus on defense and rebounding. I wish I had more confidence in Monty to motivate and make the necessary changes, but he doesn't have a good track record.
I don't agree on Shamet. I'd much rather see Payne. Otherwise, I'm afraid we're going to feel a lot of it.

The problem with Shamet isn't that there is necessarily any far superior answer on the bench. The problem is that the stubborn ass coach won't even try to find out if he can get a better result with anyone else... or any other adjustments for that matter.

Who is going to keep Jokic from getting 1, 2 and 3 offensive rebounds on a missed shot?

I haven't seen it, although I think Landale will fight for rebounds.

I am in New Orleans and am finding out first hand how hard it is to watch games "back east". Tipoff is at 9 pm and I have to get up early for an important work conference. Will miss most of this one. :bang

Here's hoping our 3 future hall of famers and supporting cast bounce back with a vengeance.

I recommend time travel. And if you get that to work, can you switch today's CP3 with the CP3 of yesteryear while you're at it?

Honestly, probably nobody. We got to out work everybody else.

It's a tall task for the Suns. I hope they have the horses to do it.

The reappearance of Cam Payne would help off the bench.

There is not a single reason that Shamet should see any playing time this game. Why is it that everyone can see it but Monty??
