One deniable fact is Plummer can play. Another deniable fact is had Plummer succeeded in AZ the Cards would be better.
"Undeniable," right?

Serious question. Other than the McCown/Poole miracle how many times have the Cards come from behind to win in the 4th quarter since Jake left?

When Plummer came to the Cards he had no NFL experience. He needed someone to tell him what an NFL QB needs to do to prepare. He probably prepared likea college QB because that was what he knew. If you are hired for a new job dont you expect your employer to tell you what he expects and to train you if neccessary.

His contract could have been written to require off season work outs and film study if neccessary. I dont think that would have been neccessary had he had the right mentor. There is nobody that wants to fail. He was the starting QB for his hometown team after playing college football there. He had every reason to want to succeed. I believe he prepared how he thought he should prepare. If it was not adequate preperation the Cards should have educated him.
.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree because nobody is ever going to convince me that an NFL team has to teach a QB that if he wants to improve he should try working harder and playing less foosball. If you have to write into a contract we expect you to do what a professional NFL QB does to get better, you got the wrong guy playing QB IMHO.

I give him credit he's figured that out now.

Russ, I would have an easier time saying the majority of the fault rested with Plummer if the Cards did not have a lengthy history, since moving to AZ, of not being able to develop players. These players then go on to other teams and those teams develop their ability. Those players succeed on other teams. I just dont think you can ignore that pattern.

The fans and media need to ask the Cardinals why this disturbing pattern exists. The pressure has to be applied to the Cards to fix their player development problem. Untill the problem is fixed the Cards will never have a good football team and players will continue to leave and become stars somewhere else.

Some of the good folks at this web site will unobjectively bash those players when they do well and wish them ill will as some sort of confidence builder to themselves that Cards management knew all along they were bad guys and the Cards are better off without them. Russ I am not including you in this group because you appear to be unemotional and objective in your opinion.

Your comment about the cost of paying Plummer making the team unable to provide a supporting cast brings up my ultimate doubt that Bidwill can field a winning team. I have my doubts that his family has the wealth to compete in the NFL. The Colts find a way to pay Manning and a supporting cast. The Bidwill money problem may be the main cause of the Cards inability to Develop and Retain enough talent to field a complete team.

Like you said we just disagree on the assessment.
