Immediate changes: play Schofield & Acho and bench Joey Porter. Play Bridges at left tackle. These aren't really significant upgrades, but hey the post-season is pretty much beyond reach at this point.

I'd wait until the offseason to replace Rod Graves and I'd give Whisenhunt and Horton a full off-season to turn things around.

Two musts for the offseason are improving the pass rush and getting NFL caliber offensive tackles, not necessarily in that order.
This is soooo on point.

There are a lot of changes that could be made that would have an immediate impact but unless you change the GM I don't think any of them will be sustainable. Hire a new guy and let him decide what direction to go with the head coach and staff. If all you want is an immediate change that does us little to no good in the long run, fire the head coach and once again let the wrong people hire his replacement.

True. One thing that I believe very much though, is that Michael Bidwill wants to be a success and he would be willing to give someone all of the power that they need.

Does anyone here have any ACTUAL business experience with Michael Bidwill. Ouchie, correct me if i'm wrong, but you knew Tim (Bidwill) and have friends who know Michael and they all pretty much say he's an idiotic douchebag of the highest order. I've got no faith in either of Michael Bidwill... from most first person reports, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Please fire the GM immediately or sooner. Get a new Gm in place now so that he can be functioning at full tilt immediately when the season is over.

That's an easy poll, hire a quality GM.

I've only said this for about 25 years or more.

It's never going to happen and I'll tell you why because to truly hire a GM you have to open up the books and if you do that then they're going to scream bloody murder if someone wants to go into turtle mode to save money up for whatever reason.

Now they may be ok with doing it themselves and working within the confines of what they have, sure but I have a sneaking feeling that this isn't how it goes down exactly I think that sometimes the team coffers aren't used solely for our football team.

Have no proof, would love to be proven wrong, just the way I feel.

Well cheese, if that is true then I would say that we are screwed in our natural lifetimes. Since we don't have enough evidence, I prefer to drink the koolaid. If I'm wrong, FML.

Quite so. If Michael really is an idiot or almost anything short of the savior of this franchise, we're doomed.

I don't think Michael is an idiot at all. He has eyes. He sees what we all see. Does that make his job easy? Hell no. Especially after the Super Bowl appearance, it makes his job hard as hell.

I only met him once and it was during the Super Bowl run. I just got the sense that he really wanted this team to do well.

I wonder if he really has full reign right now or if he is chomping at the bit to make some changes.

100% on the bolded part my Lady.

I met him once during a home game (on the top level no less, that's cool), he knew I was pretty drunk and still talked some football with me. (slanted part :))

Last part, me too!

I like this guy and he is our only chance at some new blood running the show. He listens to the people that he has hired (or his daddy), along with the fans. Between the new spending rules and his attitude, it's a step up from papa. :)

I have no idea if he is or isn't an idiot. I choose to believe that he isn't and that he really will continue to try and improve this franchise. It's the only way I can continue to drink the Kool-aid without sneaking a little cyanide into it.

Tell Kolb if he fails to step forward into the pocket on at least 70% of his drop backs he is benched.

Oh, and if he whiffs on another play with Houlser being wide open 10 feet from the endzone again not only is he benched but waived and might get framed for the murder of a hooker 'Godfather 2' style.

I've never met Michael Bidwill but everything I hear and read tells me he's committed to winning. A lot of us were duped by Whis' success during the Warner years, so I can't really fault him for the extension he gave Whis. And he stepped up and spent money in free agency this offseason. Is it his fault, the talent evaluators missed the mark, excepting Jeff King? I don't think so.

If Team Whisenhunt continues to underperform, I think (and hope) Michael will clean house, hire a real GM, and go from there.

I think that we just need to make a couple more plays. If a couple of guys make the plays that are available, then this season looks very different.

Another thing that could help would be to get back to the basics of the 3-4 and have our NT's tie up blockers instead of our OLBs tying up blockers.

I'm not an idiot, but I don't know how to fly a helicopter. I need to hire someone to fly it for me if I want to get anywhere ...
and most importantly, I need to let them do their job so we don't crash as soon as we get into the air.

In this analogy helicopter=the team, me=m. Bidwill, pilot=someone who knows how to run football operations.

I wonder how hard it would be to fill the stands with anti-graves signs? They usually don't pay any attention to what you write on them at the gates.

If you talk a good game and your dad has owned the helicopter for a long time and you help get a shiny new place to keep the helicopter, you just might fool enough people into thinking you are a pilot.

Start the young players we have. Players like Housler, (has been getting some PT) Schofield, Dan Williams, Acho should be on the field. If we can't develop talent when we are 1-6, when can we?

Everyone says hire a new GM, but nobody says who. If you don't have a replacement, it's stupid to just make a change for change's sake.
