Bledsoe is pretty clearly worth asking the question about - with 99% of the players the discussion would be very brief. With most players one of the first things I think about is how will they do it the playoffs - I want to see Bledsoe in that reference frame, too, but not because I think it will be a big hurdle for him. I expect him to thrive when the game gets more physical. I'm less certain that he will welcome the increased pressure but I won't be surprised if he does.

He needs to improve some of his skills, too, and I'm convinced people can improve those kind of skills almost without limit if they will put the time and effort into it - intelligent effort. Just practicing at random or worse, practicing what you're already good at, doesn't cut it. We may see the start of that this year but it's likely he'll have get a ways in the playoffs before he'll recognize what he absolutely has to improve. We saw that with Lebron, I think, and he did a remarkable job of improving them.

If you evaluate the Len pick independent of "McDonough's history," it looks like a bad pick. I don't give the Len pick bonus points because McDonough made it. Viewed on its own merits, it sure looks like a bad pick right now.

Sure, if you want to evaluate it two years too early.

Fair enough. I think guys like Bledsoe or Harden will always need at least 1, more likely 2 players nearly at their level to have any chance, so I don't see Bledsoe as a #1 on a championship team.

Hope he proves me wrong.

Jason Kidd level. He will need a Dirk type player.

He's definitely the number one player on the Suns. They would have won the last 2 games if he'd played. The Suns rolled on pretty well without Dragic but they are a much worse team without Bledsoe.
