A recent post where Stewart Bradley's name came up, I was laughing at myself at how much I was behind the signing, and thought it would be a great signing for the Cardinals. That Bradley would become "the guy" in the middle of the defense.

.......I think I was wrong on that. LOL

So, I thought about other players that I stood behind, and swore they would help the Cardinals and become top players. Only to be shamed at their poor performances.

He is my All-"What was I thinking team".

QB: (I had so many to choose from)
1st String: Matt Leinart - At one point stated he was the future and playing Warner was going to stun his growth.

2nd String: Jeff Blake - I had visions of deep balls getting thrown to Fitz and Boldin

3rd String: John Skelton - LOL. DOUBLE DEUCE!

RB: Marcel Shipp - Home town guy, who was OK depth, but never should have been seen as a starter.

FB: James Hodgins - I remember being so happy about signing this guy.

TE: Leonard Pope - I had visions of 10+ TD seasons in my head.

WR: LaRon Byrd - Would be starting across from Fitzgerald in no time!

WR: Stephen Williams - Long ball and red zone specialist without a doubt!

OT: Brandon Keith - Finally will solidify one of the tackle positions, right ?

OG: Elton Brown - Mr. Versatility would going to be a force in the middle.

OC: Al Johnson - He only lost his spot because he was injured in Dallas, right?

OG: Herman "House" Johnson - The next Larry Allen for sure!

OT: Levi Brown - Yep, I touted this guy, and said he was the right pick for that draft........That injury prone running back will never make it in this league anyway.

NT: Alan Branch - The NFL's next Ted Washington. Best steal of the draft!

DE: Kenny King - If he can just stay healthy his quickness will be a force in the middle.

DE: Langston Moore - I don't care about the measurables, this guy can play!

OLB: Daryl Blackstock - His quickness off the balls will be the pass rusher we need!

OLB: Travis LaBoy - I was so certain the Cardinals finally found there edge rusher, SO SURE!

ILB: Stewart Bradley - He is the prototypical SILB for the 3-4, he is knowledgeable and his size is an advantage! He will be a steal for the Cardinals. The next all-pro!

ILB: LeVar Fischer - Will become one of, if not the best linebacker the Cardinals have had if he stays healthy.........IF

CB: Eric Green - The perfect #2 cornerback. Solid play but will never garner a big contract.

CB: Jamell Flemming - I was sure the Cardinals made up for the Kolb trade after this guy was hyped up in preseason, and picked off Tom Brady. 100% sure!

S: Matt Ware - We NEED to re-sign Matt Ware. He is too important.

S: Terrance Holt - Finally someone to pair with A-Dub, and since they know each other it will have to work.

LOL. Well, you can't be right all the time, and after a while you can field a team with what you get wrong apparently!!!!!

I bet there will be a few posters that can come up with a few more of my failed predictions, and loyalties.

Remember when Wolfley briefly came in here and called for a "Big Red Huddle" to call Dansby totally overrated and say "Let me tell you, Basinonians, Langston Moore is the REAL DEAL and is KILLING IT in training camp!"

When the Cardinals signed TE Freddie Jones from the Chargers I thought we finally found the missing piece for our offense. Predicted he would put up 700-800 yards and 8-10 TDs a year. He never got near those numbers

This thread is depressing...I refuse to acknowledge that this team drafted/acquired the aforementioned players.

To be fair IMO LJ Shelton had a decent few years here....

I still remember the first guy I remember the Cards picking up and getting way over-psyched about: Dennis Shaw, back in '74.

For many years, I owned a Marcel Shipp #31 jersey (Tugboat, MF'ers!). I even wore said jersey to the 2003 draft at the Theater at MSG, when I was certain the Cards would select hometown kid Terrell Suggs - only to get laughed out of there when we traded down and took Calvin Pace and Bryant Johnson. Just a terrible trade. Thankfully Boldin was selected in the 2nd round, saving that Draft, but still.

I was majorly on the Stephen Williams, LaRon Byrd, and Ryan Williams bandwagons. Oh boy.

At least I can proudly say I was never, ever on the Rob Housler bandwagon!

Exactly what I was going to post!

I was so freaking stoked when we signed Freddie Jones. He's going to DOMINATE!!!!

No Bert, no he's not. lol First guy that came to mind for me as well.

Next guy was Edge. Edge put in some good years for us, I have nothin but love for the guy he was a huge part of our playoff run, but I really thought we finally had a star RB, he was going to gain 1500yds a season and be this game changer for the Cards. He was good, but he was never that huge impact player I dreamed he would be. Although by Cardinals RB standards, a guy having a couple of 1000yd seasons in a row is like, ring of honor material lol.

Don't forget one of our modern two way players, Fred Wakefield.
