Oh, that's what this is, "evidence?" And not, like, poor circumstantial evidence? Don't ever let this guy near a court room lol
Plenty of evidence. Right in front of your face.

The damn Super Bowl winners last year.

It's pretty silly to think snaps in the preseason means anything.

I'm going to bet that Mahomes played the pre season because he wanted some live game time with his new receivers. Probably a smart move. The question remains, is how fast Murray and Brown are going to get in sync not having played together under live conditions in over 3 years.

What happened to just discussing topics/OPINIONS respectfully and not letting ego's dominate our conversations?

Fact - nobody on this board knows the correlation of preseason work vs performance in the regular season. Let's start with that.
In reality nobody on this board knows anything about coaching a professional football team. Including me

The Cardinals have 100% shown last year that playing in the preseason is worthless.

You old people just don't adjust.
Lol. See my last post.

And I love that you changed (not even moved) the goalposts when your comment was called out as 100% wrong. But no “you’re right . . . “ admission. Why am I not surprised. Never seem to get those from you whipper-snappers. (If I’m going to be called old I’m gonna lean into it).

It's irrelevant. Reid is an old man and runs his team in an old man's way.

If you think taking snaps with weak game plans and vanilla schemes are good prep, then I don't know what to tell you man.

We've seen AMPLE evidence that QBs don't need a lick of preseason play. Ample.

Also the fact you continue speaking in absolutisms (“100% shown” . . .) just belies my point. It was a year. A single data can be an awful outlier. If teams the eschew playing starters and snap-consumers consistently start fast outta the gates you could approach such a definitive statement, but it’s a bit early to throw around “100%.”

Don't use an evidentiary approach with the geezers! :p
He’s right. And us geezers should know better than to argue with the youth of today who like to make scientific sounding absolute declarations based on small data set observations rather than actual science. They don’t have the wisdom to engage in these conversations with any nuance.

Oh King of Ridiculous Takes, once you admit how wrong you were earlier in the offseason, I'll consider your ridiculous take on other's takes, m'kay?
The brash youth never own their mistakes!

(For those unaware in just having fun with krang, I don’t think this way about youth - though I think the wisdom of the experienced is often lost on em - in every generation).

That’s weird, I’ve always heard Reid is one of the most innovative coaches in the league. The truth is, other than the fact he plays his starters in preseason I’ll bet you don’t know a lick how he coaches.

Does he allow cellphone breaks? I mean, you’re apparently the expert on how every old coach does things . . .

You know that because the rams did well so there’s more press surrounding them. Please list ALL teams that took that stance last season so we can see if there were scenarios where the QBs/teams did poorly. Without the full data you’re just wasting internet space. For all we know three teams did well with that stance and 10 did poorly. It’s why your argument is weak (not necessarily wrong, we don’t know if it’s wrong, but it’s weak because it’s based on incomplete data).

I love AI. Was at his first game - a preseason game in tiny McDonough gym on gtown campus. Thompson held out the first half and then he just exploded in the second half with like 28 points. It was one of the most awe-inspiring things I’ve ever seen. I knew immediately that the Hoyas no longer belonged to othella Harrington. And I knew he was going to hate that bc his roommate was the boyfriend of my girlfriends best friend so we hung out a ton. I wasn’t wrong. But things got REAL fun when Victor page showed up the next season and he and iverson were running all over people.

He was great and one of my all time favorites to watch. If a game was on and Iverson was playing I didn't switch the channel.

As far as the topic, I think he is right that fans make too much of practice. On the other hand, it was easy for him to say that because he was great. I don't think really applies to someone like Bismack Biyombo or Zaven Collins.

1st time I really watched him was against my perennial also ran Lobos in NCAA tourney. He didn't exactly go off but high scorer with 25, Lobo star Kenny Thomas had 9. AI basically dismantled them.

Your last point is the best point.

Preseason games are for rookies getting a feel of NFL speed for the first time & on the bubble players trying to keep a job.

That’s fine that Andy Reid does it, but I’d rather the team take the Sean McVay approach. Thankfully, the team has so we don’t have to worry about the possibility of a Budda Baker injuring himself in a meaningless game.
