fabian washgtion

I think marlon jackson is a tad bit overrated. Fabian Washgtion from nebraska
may be a steal he ran a 4.29 at the combine.

I'd actually have the Cards take Cedric Benson in the 2nd round as he hadnt been taken in the first! :D

Not me, I'd take Derrick Johnson in the 2nd. Apparently Pariah has a disdain for Longhorns. ;)

I still think mine is the best draft!

CArds:

1. CB Pacman Jones

2. RB J.J. Arrington

3. CB Antonio Perkins

3. RB Darrin Sproles

4. OT Adam Kieft

5. FS Kerry Rhodes

7. TE Jimmy St. Loius ( got to love the name)

What is this love affair with Matt Jones? Hes a big guy that ran fast, but didn't he play qb in college.? And some off you want us to take him in 2nd round? Sorry, but he will be a project at TE, at best.

This Week's Updates...Let 'em roll boys...or should I say...Rolle?

1. SF: Alex Smith, QB, Utah

2. MIA: Cedric Benson, RB, Texas

3. CLE: Derrick Johnson. LB, Texas

4. CHI: Braylon Edwards, WR, Michigan

5. TB: Mike Williams. WR, USC

6. TEN: Antrell Rolle, CB, Miami

7. MIN: Marcus Spears, DE, LSU

8. ARZ: Ronnie Brown, RB, Auburn

Cardinals' Picks

1. Ronnie Brown, RB, Auburn. Best all-around back in the draft.

2. Marlin Jackson, CB, Michigan. Strong side corner who is big and physical. Should be made to order for Pendergast's schemes.

3A. Logan Mankins, G, Fresno St. Was one of the best and most versatile linemen in the post-season All Star games. Athletic and strong. Could start at RG.

3B. Matt Jones, TE/HB, Arkansas. Too intriguing to pass up. Added 3rd round pick provides the luxury to do so. Size and speed are eye-catching. Will need to be tutored, but then again, with Keith Rowen's experience as a TE coach, Jones' development could be faster than expected.

4. Darrent Williams, CB/PR, Oklahoma St. Explosive. Needs coaching and discipline.

5. Alex Holmes, TE, USC. Blocks well and has a knack for getting open. TSN compared him physically to Jim Kleinsasser...which is all DG has to see.

7. Matt Grootegoed, S, USC. Will boost special teams while learning switch to saftey. Good, tenacious athlete.

Walter,

With Matt Jones, why an additional TE in round 5? I like it though I would take Means in the 5th. Deek Pollard would get the most out of him and there is no denying his talent.

Good call, Spanky. If Means is there in the 5th, you have an excellent case. If not, Alex Holmes is such a good blocker, he's the perfect compliment to Matt Jones, who probably will be a situational pass threat TE.

You know, it's decisions like these that make the draft fascinating. Means has more potential to be dominant than Holmes...but Holmes is so consistent and is such a high-effort guy, he's a safer pick.

Barring trades:

1. Aaron Rodgers - most pro ready
2. Braylon Edwards - Miami waits for a back
3. Alex Smith - Savage starts the rebuilding process
4. Mike Williams - Bears don't take a chance
5. Ronnie Brown - consolation prize for Gruden
6. Antrelle Rolle - fills a need for Tenn.
7. Derrick Johnson - BPA who also fills a need for Minny.
8. Cadillac Williams - better fit for us than Benson

Cards picks:

1. Will come down to Williams or Benson - we pick Cadillac.

2. Unless a first rounder like Heath Miller falls, I think we'll end up with Bryant McFadden.

3a. Some good corner prospects still available - Domonic Foxworth, Daven Holly, Ronald Bartell, maybe Webster and due to injury, maybe Jackson. I'm hoping for Foxworth but will be happy with Holly.

3b. Some speed for the offense should be available here. Chris Henry, Jerome Mathis, Roscoe Parrish, Kevin Everitt or Matt Jones are some possibilities. I'm pretty sure we could get Henry, Parrish or Jones here. Quarterbacks Walters and McPherson are also possibilities here. Let's say Parrish to finish out the first day.

4. Some good linebackers should be around. I'll take Jordan Beck please.

5. Two offensive linemen could still be there when we pick - Ray Willis and Nick Kaczur. I want Willis as a guard.

7. Looks like some decent safty prospects could still be available here. Not sure yet who I like here. I guess Grootegoed is as good as any. Or we could take a flyer on another back like Clarett here. Who knows.

it'll be the surprise of the day--the state of Texas forms it's own professional football league. Benson is drafted by the Lubbock Lariats and Johnson is drafted by the Denton Lawn Darts.

:( Sorry. I did the mock in sort of a hurry. My next one will be better, I promise.

Okay, here is my corrected, updated mock. Of all the mistakes I had in the last one, nobody caught the fact that I had Barron going twice in the top-10. :bigyawn:

I still think Benson will fall a lot further than people think, and more likely than not, so team will trade up t get him when he's there after #15. Maybe some team like Tampa. But, I'm not going to try to fool with trades in these mocks.

Here you go:
  1. SF: Aaron Rogers, QB
  2. Miami: Ronnie Brown, RB
  3. Cleveland: Alex Smith, QB
  4. Chicago: Braylon Edwards, WR
  5. Tampa Bay: Mike Williams, WR
  6. Tennessee: Derrick Johnson, LB
  7. Minnesota: Alex Barron, OT
  8. Arizona: Antrell Rolle, CB
  9. Washington: Adam “Pacman” Jones, CB
  10. Detroit: Carlos Rodgers, CB
  11. Dallas: Shawne Merriman, OLB/DE
  12. San Diego: Troy Williamson, WR
  13. Houston: Eramus James, DE
  14. Carolina: Cadillac Williams, RB
  15. Kansas City: Marcus Spears, DE
  16. New Orleans: Anttaj Hawthorne, DT
  17. Cincinnati: Travis Johnson, DT
  18. Minnesota: Mark Clayton, WR
  19. St. Louis: David Pollack, DE
  20. Dallas: Channing Crowder, ILB
  21. Jacksonville: Justin Miller, CB
  22. Baltimore: Dan Cody, DE
  23. Seattle: Cedric Benson, RB
  24. Green Bay: Thomas Davis, S
  25. Denver: Heath Miller, TE
  26. NY Jets: Kevin Burnett, LB
  27. Atlanta: David Baas, OG
  28. San Diego: DeMarcus Ware, DE
  29. Indianapolis: Odell Thurmon, LB
  30. Pittsburgh: Khalif Barnes, OG
  31. Philadelphia: Shawn Cody, DT
  32. New England: Brandon Browner, CB

Cardinals’ Picks

1. Antrelle Rolle, CB
2. JJ Arrington, RB
3a. BA Cornerback
3b. Chris Kemoeatu, OG
4. James Butler, FS
5. a BIG run-stopping DT
6. Traded to Oakland
7. Adam Bergen, TE, Lehigh

Here's What I Think DG Is Going To Do

1. CB Carlos Rogers, Auburn. DG loves the Auburn program and Rogers is a natural fit at LCB. If Green can't snag QB Alex Smith, Rogers is the guy.

2. RB J.J. Arrington, California. Arrington has the blend of speed and quicks that DG wants.

3A. TE Alex Smith, Stanford. DG is nicely surprised to see Smith still on the board early in round three. Hard to pass up this athletic and smart TE.

3B. DT Anthony Bryant, Alabama. Forget about Wendall Bryant, Anthony is the two gap slant NT Green wants and needs.

3C. WR/KR Roscoe Parrish, Miami. Green gets a 3rd round pick for L.J. Shelton and with this pick, he drafts the most explosive punt returner in the draft.

4. CB Stanley Wilson, Stanford. Denny loves Stanford kids who can play. Wilson needs to be coached, but he's got it all physically.

5. G/T Adam Snyder, Oregon. Snyder is big and versatile. Plays tough, even nasty at times. Needs to get stronger, but is a very good prospect.

7. S Junior Rosegreen, Auburn. DG snags Rogers' secondary mate, a player who plays all out and tough, despite average size. Should be a good special teamer to start with.

I would ****** my pants if this actually happened. I wanted Sproles too but JJ is awesome and Roscoe is a sleeper. What an explosive offense. 4 great WRs just like the Rams.

I like the first 4 picks, although Arrington doesn't last that long.

1) Rogers - I think I'm a convert ;) - CB

2) Arrington, Morency or Fason - RB
*If we make Shelton/Henry trade then Baas or Brown - G

3a) Ellison, Castillo or Bryant - DT

3b) Campbell, Walter or Orton - QB Another Tiger?

4) Behold there's antother RB here - Barber, Gore or Sproles perhaps.

5) A TE - don't know too many here this late.

7) WR - Return Spec.

3aa) If we get another 3rd for Shelton we pick up a OG with that pick. BPA - Keamoutu - sp?

During the course of the draft I think we should make a couple of moves.

1. Sign Andre Dyson, a corner that is only going to keep getting better.
2. Trade Shelton for Travis Henry.
3. Trade Clement, Thompson, and maybe a fourth for Patrick Surtain.

Then my draft would go like this:
1. Derrick Johnson
2. Dave Baas
3a. Kevin Everett
3b. Antonio Perkins
5. Anthony Bryant
7. BPA preferably best OT

WildBB: If QB Alex Smith is available...I think this is where he pulls off the draft day trade with Buffalo and acquires Travis Henry for L.J. Shelton, then he drafts as follows:

1. QB Alex Smith, Utah

2. CB Marlin Jackson, Michigan, or Justin Miller, Clemson, or Eric Green, Va Tech, or Bryant McFadden, FSU (in that order, whomever is available).

3A. WR/PR Roscoe Parrish, Miami

3B. DT Anthony Bryant, Alabama

4. G Dan Buenning, Wisconsin

5. TE Alex Holmes, USC

7. CB Eric King, Wake Forest
