OK, here's my shot at this:

1 SF QB Aaron Rodgers
2 Mia RB Ronnie Brown
3 Cle QB Alex Smith
4 Chi WR Braylon Edwards
5 TB RB Cedric Benson
6 Ten CB Antrel Rolle
7 Min WR Mike Williams
8 AZ CB Pac-Man Jones

As for Arizona's rest of the 1st day I'm gonna bring up a scenario that I'm not sure alot of people have looked at. After we pick, there are no real teams with a great need at RB look at the rest of the picks and who they allready have:

9 Wash Clinton Portis
10 Det Kevin Jones
11 Dal Julius Jones
12 SD Ladainian Thomlinson
13 Hou Domanick Davis
14 Car Deshaun Foster/Stephen Davis
15 KC Priest Holmes
16 Cin Rudi Johnson
18 Min Mewelde Moore/Ontario Smith/Michael Bennett
19 StL Steven Jackson
20 Buf Willis McGahee
21 Jac Fred Taylor - Due to age may be first team that would look at RB

So assume for a second that Jacksonville is the first team looking for QB, could we pull off this trade w/Buffalo:?

We get Buffalos #1 pick, in return we give Buffalo our 2nd round pick #44 overall, LJ Shelton (filling thier biggest need of an OT), and a conditional FIRST DAY pick in next years draft (from 3rd round to 2nd round) based on performances of all players involved (Shelton, our pick with thier 1st rounder and thier pick with our 2nd rounder)? I think this would be a doable deal Trade value chart shows the #20 pick valued at 900 points, our 2nd rounder #44 is 470 points, LJ Shelton should be concidered at worse a high 3rd rounder or around 230 points leaving a difference of 200 points or about halfway between 3rd & 2nd round in next years draft. If we can pull off this trade (and assuming the Cadillac Williams drops to #20 before we pull the trigger) then rest of our draft is:

#20 RB Cadillac Williams
#75 CB/PR Antonio Perkins
#95 G Chris Kemoeatu

So we got a #1 corner in Jones, our #1 Back in Williams, Depth/possible replacement for Bridges in Kemoeatu, and depth/Punt Returned in Antonio Perkins.

Excellent idea Jason, but I don't think Cadillac will fall past TB. Maybe we have a shot at Benson then but I think a team may pick him up on potential alone, a team like Carolina may also want one of the big three for insurance and in the future when Davis retires.

I think Buffalo traded away this years first round pick last season to get Losman so they don't pick until round 2.

What would you think if it was Rogers who fell because of the trade and not Smith?

I also hear good things about McFaddan - CB, good speed and leaping ability.
Haven't heard much about Green?

I still think the 1st pick comes down to DJ, Benson, or one of the remaining CB's - prob. Jones or Rogers.

I'll be honest....and I say this with the most respect....but those are some of the worst mock drafts I have ever seen. Although I will give you all some DAP because you predicted trades. But honestly....I want my life back.

With that said.....

1. Rolle
2. Arrington
3a. Walter
3b. Ryan Moates
4. Some random Florida State player who has been passed over because he had a bad workout, and then will go on to dominate the NFC West.....for the third straight season

Although I trust DG will make smarter picks then the ones I have just laid out........

Here's my wish list as of this morning:

1. We retain Shelton AND Clemment; Shelton starts at RG; Clemment is kept for depth. We DO NOT trade for Henry.

2. The draft goes like this:

1. Antrell Rolle, CB
2. DT, Luis Castillo, DT
3A. RB, Kayjay Harris, RB
3B. OG, Chris Kemoeatu, OG
4. Travis Daniels, CB
5. Junior Rosegreen, CB
7. Billy Bajema, TE

Harris ends up being the "boldin pick" this year and lights it up. The oline is solid with Big, Kemo, Step, Shelton, Ross. Edwards starts at TE, but the position becomes one of need for 2006.

The pass defense is improved because Rolle steps in and is a #1 CB from the start. He and Macklin make a good tandem. Jr. Rosegreen develops into a good nickleback. Castillo pushes Davis for the starting spot, but only plays in rotation; shows good promise and starts in 2006.

I know I don't post here much, and I'm kinda late on the thread, but here's my Cards mock. I did it as if the Henry trade was to go through.

#8 - Derrick Johnson OLB Texas - In my opinion here's the best player in the draft. We don't have a huge need @ OLB (or any need for that matter), but LB's like this don't come along too often. Dansby, Gerald Hayes, and Derrick Johnson would be the heart of our "D" for years to come.

#44 - Alex Smith TE Stanford - This is a need pick, but wouldn't be a reach in any way. Add a young talented TE to an emerging receiving corp and Warner won't have any excuses not to have a great season.

#75 - Ronald Bartell CB Howard - In my opinion CB is our biggest need, and here's a nice corner with a good upside. He's the best corner on the board and again not a reach.

#95 - Andrew Walter QB Arizona State - The 2nd coming of Jake!! Nah not really. A more traditional drop back passer with a big arm. Pre season mocks had this guy rated as a top ten pick, but due to injuries he's dropped off many peoples radar. If healthy and given time to mature could be a franchise QB in my opinion.

#111 - Chris Kemoeatau OG Utah / Richie Incognito OG Nebraska - Either of these guys would give us some needed depth on the o-line. Who wouldn't wanna see a guy with the last name Incognito on their favorite team. Jersey sales will be bangin'.

#168 - Darren Sproles RB Kansas State - This might seem like a stretch that he would be available here, but alot of mocks actually have him being taken further down then this. In my opinion this guy is a Dante Hall clone. Not the kind of guy you want going over the middle when you're playin' the Broncos (LOL), but he's dynamite when he gets the ball in his hands. Would primarily be used as a kick returner and should make that aspect of the game a must watch.

#226 - Chris McKenzie CB Arizona State - This guy ran a sub 4.4 @ the combine and was right near the top of the list in nearly all the drills. Could be a sleaper in my opinion Has all the physical tools to be an NFL corner.

Thanks. Go Cards!

Here our my thoughts:

1. Niners-Aaron Rodgers QB (California)
2. Dolphins-Ronnie Brown RB (Auburn)
3. Browns-Alex Smith QB (Utah)
4. Bears-Cedric Benson RB (Texas)
5. Bucs-Mike Williams WR (USC)
6. Titans-Braylon Edwards WR (Michigan)
7. Vikings-Carnell Williams RB (Auburn)

All the backs are gone so DG trades Shelton and our second to the Bills for Travis Henry, their second, and their sixth round pick.

Round 1-Antrell Rolle CB (Miami)
Travis Henry RB (Buffalo Bills)
Round 2-Luis Castillo DT (Northwestern)
Round 3(a)-Corey Webster CB (LSU)
Round 3(b)-Adrain McPherson QB (Florida State)
Round 4-Chris Kemoeatu OG (Utah)
Round 5-Jerome Collins TE (Notre Dame)
Round 6-Chad Owens WR/RS (Hawaii) pick acquired in Shelton/Henry trade
Round 7-Robert Rodriguez OLB (Texas El-Paso)

Beyond belief all seven teams picked for need which leaves Derrick Johnson on the board. DG quickly uses the cell speed-dial and informs Buffalo the deal is on. Shelton to Buffalo, Henry to Arizona, and swap 44 and 55.

RD 1 #8 Derrick Johnson olb (No to remaining auburn RB and no to PacMan)

Xmas is here. A speedy and strong DT is still on the board because of steroid use.

RD 2 #55 Luis Castillo DT. F = 1/2 mv2nd power. DG is now trying to think of any LB + DL corp that has a larger v to the second power.

The BPA curve is beginning to look like the need curve.

Rd 3 #75 Dominique Foxworth cb. A run on Cbs leaves Dominigue BPA at CB.
RD 3 #95 Stanford Routt cb. May be able to go both ways. Upside on athleticism.

Second Day and the stretching begins.

RD 4 #111 Tab Perry wr. Probably reaching but DG gets a KR and a project at WR.

RD 5 #168 Tyjuan Hagler olb (projected safety due to height). A DG style player. Very fast, very quick, and very strong (strongest olb in draft). Would have taken in 6th rd but cards don't have one. Hagler stock has elevated to where this is not out of reach, especially if you also need a future safety. Griffith ain't gettin' younger. Hagler is guaranteed ST performer.

RD 7 #226 Daven Holly cb/wr. Two Cincinnatti players go to the same team in the same draft. DG is amazed that the speedy Daven fell this far and feels he has a gunner for ST. Possible two way performer.

DG feels the TE situation can be answered next draft or through FA if necessary. DG is pleased with reports on Bobby Blizzard. Since Curt is satisfied with Hodgins; he is satisifed with Hodgins (at least for this year). He knows this draft is not as good as last year, but he realizes not many first round projections fell to second and third round like last year. He's going to save as much cap space in order to extend Quan's contract and possibly Warner's, Henry's, and /or Big's.

Walter - Coming off the heels of a near-trade where, for Shelton we'd get a starting RB and only had to swap a #44 for their #55, you now have us

- Getting no RB for Shelton

- Swapping our #8 for Houston's #13 and extra 2nd round and 6th round picks.

Using your own scenario, it would appear that at #8, C Williams, Benson, PacMan, Rogers, Ware and D Johnson are still available and that we'd get one of them at #13.

Whether or not this would be a good trade depends on (a) who actually gets drafted in the first 7, (b) who remains on Dennis Green's board at #8 and (c) whether Dennis feels the second-echelon RB's and CB's available at #44 - #47 (i.e. like J Miller, M Jackson Arrington, F Washington) would still be there and be good enough selections should Benson, C Williams, PacMan and Rogers be off the board at #13.

Note - Regarding your first 7 picks assumption. I don't think Merriman will shoot up to #3 in the draft (even Minnesota at #7 is a reach. #3 is nearly off the charts). I love Ware and actually rate him that high. But both he and Merriman are guys moved up the charts primarily due to their Senior Bowl and Combine performances. To place that much weight on post season results - enough to move either one into #3 territory - is pretty scary. (Look what happened to Leeland McElroy. I remember the tongues hanging out after his cone drill - and it turned out he was a risk high in the second round; not at #3).

I still believe Travis might be a cardinal on draft day. We droped two LB's a couple of weeks ago. Need to fill with BPA LB,CB, OG and depth to special teams.

1st pick if available Derric Johnson if not Benson.
2nd CB Washington or Webster if still on board
3rd dt Luis Castillo
3-b G- Chris Kameoto
4th QB McPherson

After the first 5 picks IMO it will be a Safety , RB, TE, depending on what the board says those positions will be looked at.
