The easy part of our schedule has yet to unfold. We still have the Redskins, Rams, Cowboys, and Chiefs to play. This was actually a pretty brutal way to start the season.

Easy part of the schedule... holy mackerel, when has that ever been said about the Cardinals???, ever???

Even though the last 3-4 meetings with the Crowboys have been wins, we still have to make up for years.. nay decades, of being beaten down by them. I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact we have owned them the last few years.

I didn't mean they'd be easy wins, per se. Just that they look to be lesser competition than what we've seen so far.

Hey brah, you don't have to qualify your statement. I know you're just guzzling the Kool-aid. Pass the pitcher.

Pretty good bye week. I am seeing a range of 2-5 for the Cardinals. My favorite is Kirwan's. He has the Broncos 3rd and the Cardinals 4th. Here is his summary:

4. Cardinals (6): The Cardinals needed the bye to get Carson Palmer back in form as they prepare to go to Denver. A win here and they move to the top three at least. With those solid cover corners they will come after Peyton Manning.

Um. Duh?

Crisper57's National Power Rankings After Week 4

1. Seattle:So KC took your noise record during your Bye week, huh, Seattle? Don't worry, you can take it back when the Cowboys come to town in 2 weeks.

2. Broncos:I am all about moral victories here. If you take the #1 team to OT and barely lose to a coin toss, you are #2 in my book. The bye week did nothing but make Denver's loss even more impressive in my book.

3. Bengals:What is the sweet Lord is going on with top teams getting Byes this week?

4. Cardinals:Ok, Bye Week. Now you're starting to piss me off.

5. Niners:They deconstructed the Eagles, a previously unbeaten East Coast team, so they must be Top 5. Everything is all right. No need to listen to rumors of dysfunction, since winning cures everything.

6. Chargers:The best football is being played out west. Don't be surprised if both western divisions get 3 playoff teams this year.

7. Cowboys:Best running game in the NFL? Maybe. Even though dismantling the Saints when they travel is starting to get a little automatic, you have to respect the butt-kicking that America's Team put on New Orleans.

8. Chiefs:They made Tom Brady look oooooooold. Only Top 10 teams get to make Tom Brady look like Derek Jeter. BTW, which of those guys do you think had a more charmed life? God I hate them.

9. Lions:Who'd have thought their defense would be carrying that offense? If they start clicking on offense, no one beats this team. Of course, I think once Megatron starts dominating again, Suh will do something stupid to counter it.

10. Ravens/Packers:You tell me which team had the more impressive win on Sunday. I can't pick.

Kirwan has the Patriots five spots ahead of the Chiefs which after last night's game is completely ridiculous.

No way the Cards are Top 5 team right now. I know the record says maybe they are but we should know more this week. If we get manhandled by the Broncos? Definitely not top 5. If it's a close game decided in the 4th? I think you have a better argument. If we beat them? Definitely.

Who would you put above them?

None of their opponents have looked all that weak since the Cards played them (6-0), so you'd be hard pressed to find teams with more impressive wins.

The Cards have beaten their opponents with an average of 7 points through three games. I think the the jury is definitely still out. That's why I think this coming up game is going to reveal much about this team.

The Cards have beaten what appear to be 3 quality opponents, 2 of which were with a backup QB. That means way more than margin of victory. Don't worry. You'll get your blowout at some point. The Raiders are still ahead. ;)

I don't necessarily need a blowout but I think the game this week is more important of a gauge of where this team is at versus a blowout against an awful Raider team. I can't wait for the next game.

The teams we beat have 7 wins.

This will be our best gauge of our defense against what should be a superior offense. I can't wait to see it. I count on our offense to do what it has done recently. Score some points and don't turn it over.

Palmer likely gets 1 turnover.

My concern is Stanton has looked great so far but he is not polished and could turn in a kirk cousins style 4 interception game any day.

The performance today is what I was afraid of. I couldn't shake the feeling that as soon as we face a team like the Broncos would would get blown out. I realize we have some major injury issues to deal with but for those reasons the Cards didn't feel top 5 to me.

Hard to play top 5 football with your 3rd string rookie qb.

YEah. We were playing Top 5 football just fine until the injuries piled up. It was a 1 score game for most of the affair. Then LT came into the game and kept going 3-and-out, allowing Manning back on the field while our depleted D ran out of gas. Nothing to be ashamed of in that score. Strength-on-strength, I think we would have had a good shot at winning. Depleted as we were, though, we didn't stand a chance.

I give the Cards credit for hanging in there but we couldn't stop Manning and the entire game. I knew unless the offense put up some major points it was just a matter of time before the score was out of hand. Also, our run game was atrocious. Besides the game felt over by the time the rookie came in there anyway.

Yes. We are in the exclusive club of not being able to stop manning....without doc, a sill not up to speed HB, and they were still holding their own until Cambel and Peterson went out.

Crisper57's National Power Rankings After Week 5

1. Seahawks: They beat up on the Washington R-Words. I mean, I didn't watch the game, but I assume that is what happened. I am a little mad about Percy Harvin's night. Three TD's called back for penalties? That hurt my fantasy team, man.

2. Broncos:Since they are a media darling, that chop block was just an unfortunate mistake. If it'd been the other way around, I'd be screaming for retribution.

3. Chargers: When you shut out a New York media market team, you get the attention of national writers, and you get to move to #3 on my chart.

4. Bengals:They may not lose again until they play Denver December 22. Also, if the Pat's cheerleaders wear your jersey, you get bonus points. Which means...

5. Patriots:Sure they already have 2 losses, but who can even remember those? Tom Brady is back, people! Heeeee's baaaaaack!

6. Cowboys:Given their fans in the stadium, the Cowboys better be prepared to play 16 road games this season. Of course, at 4-1, the band wagoners are just about to start digging their old Aikman and Smith jerseys out of the closet any time now.

7. 49ers: Our mistake. After a couple of wins, and an interview in which the front office dismissed the locker room turmoil, we're ready to move on and forget their dismal start.

8. Eagles:Defense and special teams still win games, despite the efforts of the League to turn this into Arena Football.

9. Packers:Aaron Rodgers just discount-double-checked all over your face!

10. Colts:Andrew Luck is the second coming of Jesus, and he has the beard to prove it!

17. Cardinals: (Doing a happy dance) I told you so! I told you so! I...I...I...I told you so! Not only were they dominated all game long (I didn't watch the game, but a 41-20 score doesn't just happen in the 4th quarter), but they have the audacity to whine about the Broncos playing dirty? C'mon! This is Elway's team! This is Manning's team! They are bigger than the game and they are certainly above reproach, so by extension their entire team is above reproach.
