This was just posted on CBSSportsline:

FOX analyst Brian Billick spoke to 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio about Cardinals QB John Skelton before Sunday's game, and relayed the following quote from Fangio: “We could disguise coverages, but (Skelton’s) not reading them anyway.” Skelton was benched after a 6-for-19, three interception afternoon, proving Fangio correct

Ouch. That's pretty harsh.

Way to go proving it true, John.

The same thing will be said about Bartel in a few weeks.

On the broadcast, Billick also added that Fangio had said "Skelton basically just stares down Fitzgerald." Therefore, no need to disguise coverages.

Billick said it during the game said Fangio said they don't need to do anything because Skelton just stares down Fitz and doesn't read the defense.

That's the 2nd defensive coordinator to say how predictable we are offensively this season

Well when your QB's only want to stare down Fitz...only so much an OC can do. Other than draft a QB that doesn't suck.

Hey!!! Skelton was the savior just 5 hours ago!!! Let's have some respect!! The ball was just "wet" and he was just confused by the rain!!!

Until our QB's spread the ball around more & make them pay with other WR's or we get a guy who can stretch the field & can actually play nothing will change. I would say many QB's predetermine at the LOS where the pass is going.

49ers coaches watch tape and game plan. Our HC and OC don't. They don't even watch our own tapes closely to know that Skelton is staring down Fitz.

Let's see if they change something.......if 2 OC say publically that we're VERY predictable and they don't know/change, then there are problems even deeper than we can even imagine.

Not sure I buy that Mitch but we'll never know. How about the RT reagrdless of who it is almost always giving away the play? I noticed this 3 games ago...hand down run, hand up pass. Watch next game, about 90% of the time it's right on!

They didn't say WE were predictable they said Skelton stares down Fitz and can't read the defense.

What is our offense anyway?

Send 4 receivers out, three of whom run 3yard patterns while one guy runs straight down the sidelines and then throw into double or triple coverage is mostly what I see them do.

What is this system that is so sophisticated that our QBs need years to learn it? I keep hearing about the complexity of routes tied to 3 and 5 step drops but they run out of the shotgun most of the time.

Really hard to see what the Cardinals offensive staff is trying to accomplish.

Must be those non sophisticated defenses played in the Patriot League, that prepared him so well for the NFL. Seems possible that the Cards are so intent on Keeping Larry happy, that they have lost all insight into the concept of balance.

The system works.
