To put it in another way - I love the wins, I revel in them. I hate the season, it turns my stomach.

To each there own I guess. But I have seen so many bad seasons and losses that I will take any win I can get. No ifs and's or butts about it. I will revel in them too.

As far as the season goes? I love the season good or bad. Its Cardinal football I enjoy good or bad. I just enjoy the Good WAY WAY more :)

2-3 at the bye. My season prediction was 9-7. That has changed to 6-10. Can't see this team getting 7 more wins.

My prediction was 3-2. But that wasn't only pre-DA. It was also back when we had some receivers....

I think I just gave it to you. I had us at 2 & 1 at WORST in week three, and 4&1 at best going into the bye. 2-3 was my WORST going into the bye, and now it is our best case scenario, IMO. Worst case is they give a win back because they feel guilty.

Forgive me for not getting excited about being two plays from 0-3 after playing the rams, raiders and falcons.

C'mon Donald... 4 & 1 with Matty? Based upon what? You seriously had him leading us to wins over Atlanta, S.D and New Orleans?? I guess anything is possible, like a win this Sunday is possible... But IMO, Matty hadnn't done anything to garner that type of respect. To go 4 & 1 we would have needed a tremendous amount of luck to fall in our favor. Realistically, 2 & 3 was and still is the most proper guess. With or without Matty, the vast majority would have said 2 & 3 had the highest probability for being our record at the bye.

That would be 5-0, and I didn't say that. And I also said that was a best case scenario of 4-1, not what I expected.

I had wins over Rams, Raiders, Atlanta (even with DA I expected to win that game..I thought the D would show up and I don't think Ryan can win a game if the run is stopped).

Then steal one of SD or NO.

I felt we *should* have been 3-2 into the bye, *shocker might* have been 4-1 or *failing* as 2-3.

I sure didn't think we'd be STUMBLING into 2-3 at the bye, though.

And you predicted 10 wins with Derek freaking Anderson, bro. Based upon what? IMO, he hadn't done anything to garner that type of respect.

2008:

- Scrap out a win against the lowly 9ers, 29-24
- Get pasted by the Jets (56-35), Eagles (48-20), Vikes (35-14) and the Pats (47-7)

Go to the Super Bowl and almost win...

2009:

- Lose twice to the lowly 9ers (20-16 and 24-9)
- Squeak out a win against the putrid Rams (21-13)
- Struggle to win against the horrific Lions (31-24)

Go on to win our 2nd consecutive division title and beat the Packers in the post season...

;)

The spin doctor strikes again. We all know why the Cards got hammered by the Eagles, Viks and Pats because they already had the division all but wrapped up and didn't bother to play. A completely different situation that bears no relation to what is happening now. You conveniently overlook the 31-10, 41-17, 34-13, and 34-10 wins in 2008.

Struggle to win against the Lions? The Cards were ahead 17-0 at halftime.

They also won 31-17, 27-3, 41-21, 31-20, 30-17, and beat the Rams 34-10 in 2009 before going on to their 2nd consecutive NFC West title.

Come back and talk to me when this years team has 6 wins like those.

:p

the same with Matty as without him. Not a Matt fan nor a hater - same goes with DA. I didn't feel like Matt would do all that well anyway. He (and DA too) are the Jeff Blake of the new season.

I honestly thought we'd be 2-3, 3-2 tops.

Our team has tremendous turnover, the oline was blown up, new qb, we were SURE to struggle some. Plus, I thought we got screwed with our pre-bye schedule. I thought the first five weeks were the toughest and just surviving would be okay. I thought we were set up for a good run later on down the line, but the offense has been much poorer than I thought. With Leinart, I thought we would still be "okay" on offense, but the defense was really dicey. Instead, our defense has been "okay", but the offense dicey.

I was thinking we'd be in the 7 and 9, to 9 and 7 range. But, i'm not so confident in that anymore.

Pre scud I thought Leinart was going to be running things. :gun:
Pre scud I had more hope. :gun:
Pre scud I thought we would go 9-7, tie with Friso, and I further assumed who ever did better in the division would advance. Laugh at me, its OK, I do. ;)

I only brought up Leinart because he was around "pre scud." I am not on that trip. :D

LMAO! Good point dude... Hey, I simply feel that DA is more capable of producing W's than Mattty is. Thru 3 games, DA's 4th quarter QB Rating is something like 110. hat's pretty good stuff and I don't think Matty was ever close to that type of crunch time performance - nor do I believe he ever would be capable of producing at that level...

Time will tell...

I cant argue about my prediction because I thought we had a real shot at 3-0 at this point (pre-Scud). But felt 2-1 was more likely.

For me the difference is pre-scud I felt good about Matt having a good season. This was based on all the confidence Whis seemed to have in him and the Titans game and his rookie season. When we signed DA I was mad as heck because I felt there were other options that may not have so much potential down side. DA I convinced myself was a true "just in case" back up. And now after watching his play I feel very little hope for a sucessful season. There are other issues besides him, but the QB has a huge affect on a teams psyche and he just sucks!

So while I am greatful for any wins we get and still love watching every second of Cards ball, I just dont have that same feeling of hope that I guess I got spoiled with the last few years. And so many other things swirl in my mind now. I worry about Fitz and his future desire to stay here. And this will be a direct reflection of how this team manages the QB position. I worry about things that I guess I did not worry about the last three years. I did not think Matt would be a Warner clone, but as a fan I felt comfortable with him. And with DA I just feel nervous each and every Offensive snap.

This season may end up being a 5-11 or 6-10 season. But it may also end up being a 8-8 or 9-7 season. The deciding factor to me no longer has much to do with the QB, it comes down to the Defense. There is more than enough talent on that side of the ball for them to carry us. But will they? Right now I still have hope. But if we end up needing to rely on the offense I have none.

I felt we would be right where we are at 2-1 but that we would be establishing a running game with Beanie and a top flight DLine would emerge to shut down the opposing running game. Well wrong on both accounts. Never thought we would have to get a gift to be 2-1. Hope we get a few more because we will need them to be worth a tinkers damn by late Nov.
