I don't know how current this roster is, but it's linked to the team website.

Anyways, I know it's early, but now that it's post-draft, predict who is going to make the final 53 spots on this roster, and please be serious. No, "Peyton Manning changes his mind" or "Kurt comes out of retirement" kind of stuff. In other words, keep it realistic. When the final 53 is chosen in a few months, I'll revisit this thread to see who was the most accurate. By the way, depth chart order doesn't matter, but try to organize it like such.

Bonus points for the Practice squad.

Here's my 53 + PS prediction in order of depth chart:

Offense: (25)
QB: Kolb, Skelton, Lindey
WR: Fitzgerald, Roberts, Floyd, Doucet, Sampson, Stephen Williams
HB: Wells, R. Williams, LSH
FB: Sherman
TE: Heap, King, Housler, Dray
T: Brown(LT), Massie(RT), Bridges, Potter
G: Colledge(LG), Snyder(RG), Kelemete
C: Sendlein

Defense: (25)
DE/DT: Dockett, Campbell, Holliday, Talley
DT/NT: Williams, Carter, Lumpkin
OLB: Schofield, Acho, Haggens, Coleman
ILB: Lenon, Washington, Bradley, Walker
CB: Peterson, Toler, Gay, Fleming, Jefferson, Adams
FS: Rhodes, Johnson
SS: Wilson, Bethel

Special Teams: (3)
K: Feely
P: Zastudil
LS: Leach

25 + 25 + 3 = 53 (obviously)

Practice squad in no particular order:
Quan Sturdivant ILB
D.J. Young T
Isaiah Williams WR
Blake DeChristopher G
Zack Nash LB
Jared Crack FB
James Nixon CB
Ryan Bartholomew C

Now post your list! It doesn't have to include the corresponding position, it can be a raw list.

Pretty much the same except I think Haggans might retire.

I see Lindley on the practice squad with Bartel remaining at #3 this season

I think that's probably pretty close. I wonder if we'll carry 4 TEs again and only 3 RBs. I wouldn't be surprised to see Heap cut and either a vet or a UDFA added to the RB stable.

whats the reason keeping a player who has no chance to improve is mediocre status..lindley as 3th qb is ok..and he has much more upside then bartel..
did u see bartel throwing...does he look like a nfl qb???
if he is on the roster is just because is a good locker room guy..and the staff like guys like him

They keep Bartel because he's a more experienced backup and better suited to the number 2 role at this point, if Kolb went down. They can stash the new kid on the PS.

I don't think Lindley would make it to the PS...I think another team would snatch him up. The Cards won't risk it.

Every year we hear this about one of our late picks.

QBs and OTs are a bit different than ILBers.

Both Potter and Lindley have a good chance being snatched up. Personally, I don't see why we would keep Batiste on the active roster over Potter or Bartels over Lindley. We have two experienced QBs, and would sign an additional one if one of those two went down.

I'd like Lindley and Potter to make the final roster, but the word is that Potter needs time in the weight room, and given concern about Kolb making it through a season, going with the more experienced Bartel may make sense.

Team's tend to stay with the guys that went through their camp, at least initially. Adding someone else's later round draft pick to your 53 man roster is big decision.

Canuck - You got 6 corners there, not 5. Personally, I think Jefferson is toast. He or Adams is currently DB #11 (maybe #10 depending on Bethel), and I bet they like Butler as well.

Butler is not eligible for the practice squad (I don't think). Pretty sure 3rd years guys can't go there (maybe there is an exception due to injury last year?)

I'm guessing we keep Lindley.

Cleaned it up. In the end I think it will be 8LBs, 10DBs, but have no idea who would be the 4th OLB unless they simply go with three and use Bradley in a dual role. Who knows?

This doesn't make sense to me. Normally you only dress 7 OL per game, so why wouldn't you keep Potter on the active roster while he improves his overall strength rather than risk him being snatched on waivers for a guy in Batiste who most likely won't dress on game day either.

Concerning Lindley, if Skelton or Kolb goes down, we will most likely sign a veteran like anyway and I think Bartels would probably be available as he doesn't seem to be in high demand.

Looks good.

I think Heap will (or should) be cut.

I think Dray should be cut. Do we really need 4 TEs when we actively use none of them? King + Housler.

Id like to see Crezdon Butler on the active roster. Jefferson sucks.

With those 3-4 cuts, that makes room for UFA suprises. It happens.

We'll see. Batiste can, in a pinch, play guard. If you carry Potter, and he hasn't made the team on merit, you're basically carrying a red shirt on your 53man roster. I can imagine better use for the roster spot. If Lindley goes to the PS, and I doubt very much he'd be claimed on initial waivers, you keep the more experienced third man on the roster. If someone makes a claim on either he or Potter later, you have a decision to make.

That is a good point. Though I don't think most NFL teams would take a scatter armed rookie QB off our PS and put him on their 53. But who knows? Potter almost certainly would go. Remember that the Cards had to promote D.J. Young to the active roster to keep him from being taken off the PS by another team last year.

And speaking of Young why would the Cards not keep him after protecting him last season? Especially since his initials are DJ. Bridges probably goes before Young. Saves a million or so in cap.

yes. I did see Bartel throwing at camp last year. Right next to Kolb and Skelton. Bartel was making better throws than either. He has experience and is familiar with this team. There's no point in having a project QB rookie as our #3. He's not going to give us a better chance to win this season than Bartel. Plus it'll lead to the same Skelton crap where he plays 4 downs in one game before the "Lindley will be an MVP QB" crap starts

I actually think QB might be the easiest position to slip to the PS. Almost every team has a pet project QB on their depth chart and there are barely enough reps for QB#3. Some teams in the past few years have even gambled and only carrier 2 QBs.

I think we let Bartel go & we can sign him later if need be cause I doubt he will get signed somewhere else...
