Scouts have already said that there are no Andrew Lucks or RGIIIs in the 2013 Draft.

That is true.

But---if Georgia's Aaron Murray and Tennessee's Tyler Bray declare for the draft---there will be twice as many QBs taken in the first 50 picks than last year (4---Luck, Griffin III, Tannehill, Weeden).

1. Geno Smith, West Virginia

yesterday vs. Iowa St: 22/31, 236, 7.6, 2 TD 0 int.
season: 70.2%, 3,397, 7.7, 37 TD 5 int., 159.1
career: 11,059 yards, 93-20 TD/int

2. Aaron Murray, Georgia

yesterday vs. Georgia Tech: 14/17, 215, 12.6, 2-0
season: 66.6%, 3201, 10.0, 30-7, 177.1
career: 9,399, 89-29

3. Tyler Wilson, Arkansas

season: 62.2%, 3.387, 8.5, 21-13, 143.8
career: 7.765, 52-26

4. Landry Jones, Oklahoma

yesterday vs. Oklahoma St.: 47/71, 500, 7.0, 3-1
season: 66.4%, 3,754, 8.0, 27-9, 149.0
career: 16,129, 120-50

5. Tyler Bray, Tennessee

yesterday vs. Kentucky: 20/34, 293, 8.6, 4-0
season: 59.4%, 3,612, 8.0, 34-12, 146.3
career: 7,444, 69-28

6. Matt Barkley, USC

yesterday: DNP---injury
season: 63.6% 3,273, 8.5, 36-15, 157.6
career: 12,327, 116-48

7. Mike Glennon, North Carolina St.

yesterday vs. Boston College: 27/41, 245, 6.0,3-0
season: 57.7%, 3,648, 7.1, 30-14, 131.6
career: 7,028, 62-28

8. Collin Klein, Kansas St.

A guy that's flying under the radar is Ryan Nassib, Syracuse. Learned under Doug Marrone, who was the previously the OC with the Saints & had a big hand in the development of Drew Brees. Even Brees has stated such. Nassib has been trained in an NFL system & his head & shoulders a better NFL prospect than 3/4 of the guys who mentioned in your post. His stock is rising fast. Don't be surprised if this guy goes in the 1st round, but will definitely be a 2nd rounder. Super bright guy, high football IQ, completed 63% the past 2 years, great technique & a quick release. Trust me, he'll be playing on Sundays.

You are absolutely correct---add him right in there.

11. Ryan Nassib, Syracuse

Friday's game vs. Temple: 16/28, 215, 7.7, 1-0
season: 63.2%, 3,619, 8.1, 24-9, 144.7
career: 9,066, 68-27

Do you like Nassib for the Cardinals, PA?

Yes Mitch, this guy has NFL starter potential. He now holds every QB record in SU history & he only started the past 2 years. Let's not forget that McNabb came out of Syracuse. I'm originally from Syracuse, so I follow the program closely. Marrone took over a HORRENDOUS program that had hit rock bottom. Only this year has Nassib played with any kind of talent around him. Marrone has tutored him closely, so he's learned from one of the best QB coaches around. Marrone played at SU, but learned the game with stints at some prominent SEC schools. When Payton was hired at NO, Marrone was the first guy he went after as his OC/QB coach. The Bills love this guy, so I fear they'll go after him hard.

I am going to guess that Tyler Bray returns to TN next season. He needs to put on some weight, he is 6-6 and though he is listed at 210+ I would be shocked if he is much more than 200. He'd get killed in the NFL built the way he is now.

I think you are probably correct, although that program is in such flux, if the scouts assure Bray of a top 50 pick, he might be very tempted to declare.

I don't think Philly and Minn are going to spend another high draft pick on a QB just yet.

At this time I think that only Geno Smith, Tyler Wilson & Matt Barkley will be first round picks. That can change with Bowl games, the Senior Bowl practices and the Combine. Lots of qbs have been taken in the last several years in the early rounds, so I'm not sure how many teams will go after a qb in the first round.

The Chiefs, Cardinals, Jets and the Bills seem to have the biggest need. I'm not sure if the Jaguars, Vikings, Eagles, Browns and Titans will give up on their young qbs so soon.

It will be interesting to watch.

Thanks for the write Mitch!

If I was an NFL personnel man, I would prefer Geno Smith. IMO he's the closest thing I've seen to RGIII at throwing the rock down the field with accuracy & throwing guys open. But some folks like vanilla, I like chocolate :D

I too agree there is no "guaranteed stud" like last year which is why I was soooo willing to trade three #1s & three 2s to have a chance to get Luck & RGIII...it would've been so worth the price!!!

Who are the eight teams?

Cards, Eagles, Bills, Chiefs and Jets are the obvious ones. After that?

In the NFC: giants, skins, Minny, gb, det, chi, ATL, car, tb, no, sea, stl, and sf are all set.
In the AFC: pats. Mia, Pitt, Balt, Cindy, clev, Indy, hou, Jax, Denver, oak, sd also set

That leaves Dallas and Tenn as possible spots.

Living here I get a heavy dose of the Vols. Surprisingly Vols fans complain about Bray quite a bit. He is very immature and have heard him compared to Ryan Mallett.

He should come back for his senior year but who knows. Not sure if it is just talk but many are saying Gruden may be coming to Knoxville. I seriously doubt this though.

Geno Smith is no RGIII! He's a system QB who will struggle with the sophistication of the NFL defenses. People forget that RGIII is not only a phenomenal athlete, but he was an honors student at every level. Geno Smith has 1/10th the football IQ that RGIII has. Furthermore, he plays in a Conference that plays ZERO defense. I wouldn't touch Smith unless he dropped to the 3rd round.

Geno or nothing in my opinion. I hope the Cards don't waste another 1st or 2nd round pick on another clipboard holder. Just concentrate on improving our OL, D, and RB. If we take a qb who is a bust in this weak year for qbs, then next year we will refuse to take a qb who might be a lot better. Let's just wait until we get a shot at a great one.

Now, I am not opposed to trading up to get Geno. But to me the rest you could put in a hopper and draw a name, and you would be just as likely to pick a future starter. I just don't see one in this group, except maybe Geno.

Many peeps (including you I think?) said the same thing about RGIII last year being a "system QB". I never got caught up in the athlete in RGIII, I watched just his passing skills. IMO Geno has those same skills, but we will see.

Do you have Genos IQ test scores? Btw Griffin came from the same conference!!! Lol

I wouldn't say Jax, Oakland or San Diego are set...Gabbert stinks--Palmer and Rivers best days seem to be behind them and I am not sure the future is there sitting behind them.

Ok -- put Jax on that list

But if Palmer and Rivers are set free, wouldn't they fill in a couple open spots of the six or so teams that need QBs?

I just don't know if Jax is ready to go high first round pick in a QB again so quickly after taking Gabbert.

He said top 50, which includes the second round...It wouldn't surprise me to see a team like Oak and SD take a QB in round 2 with an eye on the future.

Even though Gabbert was a top 10 pick, it is much easier to cut your losses with a bust due to the rookie pay scale.

Bob Griffin played in a "system" @ Baylor.

Geno Smith plays in the same conference as Klein, Landry Jones, and the one Bob Griffin did.

Are you predicting Geno Smith's Wunderlich score?

Aaron Murray is without a doubt my favorite coming out. To me he dwarfs Wilson.

Tyler Bray will likely be overdrafted because he has size and the most NFL ready arm of the class. His problem is decision making and accuracy(where have we seen that before?).

I've wanted to like Murray but he's just not big enough and I don't really remember him lighting up good competition even though he has always had a top WR corp.

Not sold on Geno Smith at all.

EJ Manuel looked like the guy I have seen for years yesterday, pass.

No to the K-ST QB and Glennon, and a bigger no to Barkley.

Landry Jones intrigues me.

I'm targeting either Wilson or Nassib.

Don't know about Sorenson.

I actually like Nassib better than Wilson. I watched Wilson's game yesterday and never did I see someone produce what he did and get so little from the production. Likely the last home game as well.
