Cards lose by 3 points late in the 4th quarter.

Another heart breaker for the fans.

Murphy's law and the Cardinal's curse combine together so that all 50/50 ref calls, fumbles, bounces and penalties go against us.

The defense keeps us in the game only for the offense fail to contribute.

After a 0-2 record against division opponents and possible elimination from the playoffs the new coach is suddenly in the hot seat and is voted #1 coach most likely to be fired.

The players lose all hope and faith

I said it in the season prediction thread, and I'll say it now. The Cards only win 2 games this year. And Sunday ain't one of 'em.

Big plays do us in again.

Running game shut down as teams now have film on the young linemen.

Leinart plays worse than Navarre causing major concern for coaches and fans.

Seattle 32
Cards 13

You do realize that if your prediction is anywhere close to being correct, or season is over.

Well not really. There is the possibility that the young line could gel and Leinart could turn it around and we rally to win 9 of 14 like they did in 1998. But I doubt it.

This is what I am thinking also, but I didn't have the courage to post it.

I differ with you on the running game being shut down. But I do see the running game becoming irrelevant when we fall too far behind. The Seattle DC should be watching the film from Monday night and will see the same thing that worried me in the San Fransisco prediction thread, that if you can take away the passing game, we cannot win a game on the ground.

Once again the game will come down to which Leinart shows up. My only hope is that Whis is giving Matt some of the "tough love" that he gave him after the Oakland pre-season game. A Leinart that plays like the one who played in the Houston game can keep us even and perhaps eek out a win in a "sprint/last team to have a possession wins the game" type scenario.

On Defense, I think that we will contain Alexander, as we did Gore, but we can't count on Hasselback pulling an Alex Smith on us. Our deficiencies in the secondary will come home to roost in this game, and a good QB will exploit that.

As usual, I can see several ways that we could win this game, but if I was forced to bet:

hawks - 23

Cards - 9

Arrington takes one to the house and Fitz gets involved in offense from the get go. Everyone's outlook does a 180 going into Baltimore next week with hopes of Kyle Boller starting.

Even game. Could go either way, decided late, for sure.

My gut says Cards 24, Seattle 21.

Cards win a close game.

Offense rebounds while the defense comes crashing back to earth as the Seattle receivers don't drop nearly as many passes as SF did.

Late Rackers FG seals the win 27-24.

Both Edge and Boldin get their first 100 yard games of the season.

Go Cards

I'm thinking we're looking at a 1997 scenario - we have the game in hand to the Bengals, completely blow it (i believe we were up 21-3 in the fourth... Centers fumble with 1:50 left) and then come home to face the Cowboys in a game I was certain we'd lose.... which we didn't.

I think the same thing happens here - we completely blow game 1, everyone says same old cards, go down by 14 immediately and then somehow rally, ending up winning 20-17 on a last second field by Rackers.

That's right - Cheese is predicting a 1-1 record with a:

Cards 20
Hags 17

We will either win a close one or get blown out like 31-13.

I'm going to keep believing so I'll say 19-13 Cards.
