Dude ... you are mad? When I say that Mathieu wasn't wrong and you say it your self, you still attack me? What read into my post when you read my posts?Dude. He left us in 2018. He was All Pro in '19 and '20 and a pro bowler in '20.
I'm not saying Keim was wrong to cut him but the "we don't let good players go" line is a joke.
Look 2017 Mathieu played poorly, 2018 Keim asked him to take a pay cut to keep other players, the pay cut would have made Honey Badger still one of the best payed Safties, for crying out loud, that was a good deal he got for playing poor and not up to 12.5 Mio$ a year.
He has now got less money by Houston and KC than he would have in his first contract and around the same after the pay cut that Keim wanted. That says everything that is wrong with the whole thing.
The 2020 SB loss and his lie ... made him less likeable for 80% of the league.
Overall yes Mathieu is a great Player but in Arizona he couldn't stay healthy (4 of 5 season he didn't play all 16 games) and when healthy he played not up to 12.5 Mio $. Arizona needed money, Mathieu didn't play well and was asked to take a pay cut, he thought he was worth more when in reality he wasn't and no one payed him like the cards after 2017. So yes Keim sometimes messes up with veterans, but on others he doesn't. Do we let good players go? Gosh we let go Boldin, prime Dansby, Calais and many more...
