Is Paul having a reverse effect on him?...

I'm not sure what Paul had to do with Ayton standing around most of the game. I saw more from Smith.

Nader is not impressing.

I am impressed with Alexander. Don't understand how he didn't get drafted. Lots of bounce in his step.

nader was out thinking himself. Passing when he had easy shots. alexander didn’t shoot well I believe.

Should have kept Rubio and Oubre. This team without Paul on the floor is beyond awful, and Paul looks old and done.

This is an over reaction to the extreme - even for you.

Alexander looked like he belonged out there. I couldn't believe how well he moved for an undrafted player but under control.

He shot 2-6 for 4 points but he had 2 assists and a steal as well.

Maybe Nader will be fine. It's preseason but he didn't impress.

Ayton really can be infuriating.

I'm always supporting Ayton but he was just standing around tonight. It's hard to watch a player with talent be passive. I'm hoping it was fatigue.

I would never make that kind of a statement based on 20 minutes of play. Nobody should.

20 minutes of play looking old, slow and ineffective on the heels of already having sore ankles before a real game is played. Reminiscent of Michael Jordan with the Wizards. I fear James Jones was played for a sucker in this trade.

I hate to hear this from you, as you are pretty level headed and supportive of Ayton. I have a headache and no weed, and was hoping my critique of Ayton was an overreaction. How the hell is he out of shape? Ugh

One possible alternative explanation for Ayton: With Prop 207 passing, perhaps Ayton has gone full blown Ricky Williams in terms of the pot usage...

I don't have a explanation. Ayton was just running up and down the court not being aggressive. He was holding onto his pants like he was exhausted during time-outs. The only thought to explain it, he is not in shape.

I see Precious (4-5) had 8 points and 2 rebounds. He will be a nice fit with the Heat.

I liked both Smith and Precious as well as Haliburton.

It's frustrating that a professional athlete is going to come into camp out of shape.

Right now he is not.

Ayton appeared winded earlier as he was pulling on his shorts. Let's hope part of it is because he is out of shape.
Jesus. We are at the point where we hope that the crappy play of our big hope is because we hope he’s outta shape?!?

Especially after talking up how much he’s been getting after it in the off-season... after his lackluster play in the bubble... where he almost missed the final game that had play-in ramifications... which we probably wouldn’t have needed if he hadn’t hurt the team by getting suspended and missing the first 25 games.

This is probably best case scenario along with it's preseason.

Prediction: Chris Paul will throw a punch at Ayton sometime before the season is up.
