Why do you want to go worse case scenario over the Suns first preseason game?

Of course not. Why would you ask that? ... Oh, I think I know why. He's back to his old tricks, isn't he. Makes for a strange forum reading experience when you don't see his BS and only see the responses.

Even best case scenario, Paul being sore before Game 1 means there is no way he is playing even 60 games this year. The Suns need to sign point guard insurance ASAP. If they have to start Payne, Carter or God forbid Booker at the point, for any extended period, they don't stand a chance.

If the Suns were to go after insurance at point guard, J.J. Barea may still be available.

As a follow up note.

If the Suns did sign Barea for the minimum on a 1 year contract, he would cost on y $1,620,564 with the NBA making up the difference in cost from the scheduled minimum of $2,564,753.

The NBA doesn't want to discourage signing older veteran players..

Spoken like someone that has never worked out hard in his life. When you ramp up the intensity of your workouts you will get sore. Then as your body adapts to the workout you start to get less and less soreness.

Aside from Chris Paul, the second most player I am anxious to see is Jalen Smith. With Saric out we may get a good look at him.

Also we might get a chance to see Jae Crowder as I don't see him listed as out.

And yet not everyone in the NBA has this soreness of which you speak. Yes, I have worked out hard and been sore. But I am not a world class athlete being paid millions to play a sport. More important I am not a 35 year old with an extensive injury history being paid $40 million a year with no viable back-up plan on the roster.

Yes he is 35 years old and will not recover as quickly from things like soreness as younger players, but Paul sitting out 1 preseason game is by no means an indication that he will miss a bunch of games this year.

As previously stated he sat out 2 preseason games last year and still played in 70 of 72 games and only 1 of those were prior to the bubble. The other missed game was the last regular season game in the bubble when their playoff spot had been secured.

Booker's turnaround last second jump shot over Paul George in the Orlando bubble was unbelievable.

There's probably nothing in this system he doesn't already know. I'd have liked to see him play in this game but I'm no more concerned about his availability now then I was before the trade. His age and health are real concerns but we knew that when we traded for him. Tonight changes nothing in that regard AFAIC.
