So. Assuming Bledsoe eventually signs. . .

Dragic, Thomas, Ennis
Bledsoe, Green
PJ, TJ
Keef, Tolliver, Mook
Plumlee, Len, Randolph

Players with increased minutes (or new players who will take minutes): Thomas, TJ, Keef, Tolliver

Players who will decrease minutes: Mook, Green

Players who will play in garbage time or special situations only: Ennis, Randolph

You're forgetting Goodwin - something definitely has to give in that backcourt.....

Team needs: Rebounding, rebounding, rebounding. I would take single digit points and double digit rebounding from the starting center and be thrilled. Three point shooting. We really do not have a designated shooter on this team. Tolliver is the closest thing, but he is not in the starting line up. PJ had better improve that corner 3.

I meant to ask you earlier how the nickname "Mook" came about for Marcus Morris. Is it yours or did you hear it somewhere?

I'd suspect it's intentional.

Goodwin just isn't very good. I doubt he ever becomes a starter in this league. I'm unsure if he can even stick around.

I do not believe this for a second. He will become a very good player some day although it may not be with the Suns. Goodwin needs a team that will play him every night until he develops. It may take years.

When, in the history of the league, has a really bad player become a good player simply by giving him minutes? Seriously, I can't think of a single instance. I haven't given up on him and I hope he earns those minutes but playing him every night if he continues to perform at a level below Beasley makes no sense to me. Remember, Beasley had his "Sacramento nights" too.

Yes, Goodwin's 10.3 PER is easier to swallow than Beasley's 10.8 PER was because Archie is still so very young but you still send the same message to his teammates. If you play Archie every night and he doesn't perform any better than he has, you're telling every one else that winning doesn't matter.

I know I've said it before but I really think we need Archie to focus on his defense. He needs to add some strength and he needs a better understanding of team defense to make that happen. But he's much closer to earning minutes as a defensive pest than he is as the offensive stud he's apparently determined to be.

Do you not agree that putting a young player into the rotation equals giving him a chance? And that leaving him out of the rotation equals not giving him a chance.

Unfortunately for Archie, a 2-Point Guard starting lineup leaves no room for a backup Shooting Guard. Our lead Shooting Guard becomes our backup Shooting Guard.

The ramifications of a 2-Point Guard lineup affect more than just our Point Guards. It puts the rest of our backcourt out of synch and puts up a roadblock for our drafted Shooting Guards.

I KNOW that this experiment will die a slow death, just as don't develop young prospects/7 1/2 man rotation SSOL. (Emphasis intended. :) )

No I don't agree that putting a young player into the rotation equals giving him a chance. We don't pull players off the street and put them into the rotation to see if they can become basketball players. Why would we do it with Goodwin? We've given him minutes and he's killed us out there.

When Archie is in the game, the same thing happens almost every time. We get outscored, usually by a lot. We can give him even more minutes and hope for different results but I'd prefer we give him his chance with a very short leash. IOW, use him like we did last year. If he earns more minutes, great. If not, you play to win the game.

No. It wasn't intentional. But the fact that he was so easy to forget reminds me of how forgettable his summer league was. He has all the natural ability in the world but has so muchnwork to do on his skills and mental game. I doubt he will see much pt.

Reminds me of when the Suns drafted Stephen Jackson. He was just so raw. There was no place on the roster to wait long enough for him to develop. Eventually he did but he entered the draft way too soon.

Stephen Jackson is an excellent comparison. If a team can wait on Goodwin he will be good.

Thanks. Wiki has it as Marcus "Mook" Morris as well.
