Is this the year they break through and win the division? The talent is there, so it's all on Matt Leinart.

The talent is there..................

I don't know the last time I heard someone in the national media say that with a straight face.

I have heard it from reputable third parties for the last two seasons -- other teams sportswriters, announcers, national types and the like --

they look at the team and wonder given the talent why the team didnt win more than it did

I thought that it was more koolaid for national press thinking that this might be "our year." This is the first time I think the press actually believes it.

To each.

Hopefully THIS year the Cardinals break out their usual untimely turnovers, delays of game, "prevent" defenses, etc that seems to be their bane no matter who is coaching.

Prisco has been pimping the Cards for a long time. He went to ASU, I'm pretty sure he's a closet Cards fan.

Let's hope he is right this year.

I'm ready for the season to start. :koolaid:

We were 8-8 last year and one of the worst teams in the NFL the three years before that. What credit do we deserve?

The Cardinals deserve credit for changing the whole way they've done business in the last 3 or 4 years. They've gone from being a team who would let their good players go rather than pay them, would never renew a contract before it had expired, refused to offer any bells or whistles on a contract, etc., etc., to acting just like a real professional NFL team.

If our players and coaching staff are doing like you and only looking backwards, this team will never make the playoffs. I think we, as fans, need to set the example and be positive about where we are heading. We don't need to gulp the Koolade, but we can certainly see how upbeat this organization is and give them the benefit of the doubt.

Did you give your kids high-fives for getting "C"'s in school?? Why should the team be rewarded for finally becoming average?? Call me a hater, but I am not a big believer in celebrating mediocrity.

Right there with you. New coaches & they way they do contracts is great but until we see the success on the field call me cautious.

I'm excited about this season but the team will continue to be looked down upon by the media and other fans until they win more than they lose.

Nobody on this board is satisfied with 8-8. But that's the hand we're dealt as fans. It's really cool that we finally had a draft for depth rather than hoping to fill a need. This was a perfect year to be almost non-existant in FA.

I'm excited for this coming season, can't wait already!

Yes I would and I'd encourage them to work harder and try for B's in the next quarter. The only reason anyone should ever look back is to make sure they don't repeat past mistakes. To dwell in the past will only insure that you will remain there. Stuck in the past. This is a new day and a new team. As of today, anything is possible. Let's send out some positive vibes for a change and watch this team feed off of them. No river is too wide and no mountain is too high.

This is SPARTA!!!!

Yup because as the old saying goes.. Momma, dont let your babies grow to be cowboys.. So getting is C is better than being a cowboy..

I wasn't speaking as to whether or not Card's fans should be excited headed into the season, of course we should. I was just explaining why the national media isn't and shouldn't buy into the hype just yet.
