I'm feeling better about trading a 2024 fifth-round pick for Dobbs. Hope it works out.

Who is our left guard?

A lotta hope for a line that’s…

Dj - good player
??? - likely not a good player
Frodo - looks good in limited preseason snaps
Hernandez - average player
Paris - highly drafted rookie

No faith in Frodo.

Led all Centers in sacks allowed last season despite ranking 30th in snap taken at the position. IMO, we couldn't have done much worse filling that slot.

Maybe the OL is less individual and more club. My guess, he’s apart of a club now where he meshes well his new club members inspiring one’s self to be better at this heir craft:) At least that’s my hope…

Eh, I am clinging to some hope. My hope is we can play tough, scrappy football while losing games. Because we ain't winning many.
Toughness and discipline. That's what I want to see. If we get penalties I would rather see unnecessary roughness than false starts and offsides.

You know...not penalties for being stupid, but for playing too hard.

There is a bit of a learning curve with him since he is fairly new at football. He "should " be better than last year. Hopefully our guards can protect him a bit too since our tackles should be fine.

We could have done worse. Lecitus Smith was working to be our OC... could have just given the job to him.

Feeling better after seeing him for zero snaps? Do you my guy.

I like Dobbs mobility and intelligence. It may not work out for the Cardinals winning, but at least he has a style similar to Murray.

They may want to be patient with Clayton Tune.

Btw, what did you expect from the Cardinals this season?

What are your mobility comments based on?

What do you mean “what did you expect from the Cardinals this season”? At what stage?

Can probably base the mobility comments on the actual tape of Dobbs in NFL and College. He's not Kyler, but he's not Brady, either.
Why aren’t you quoting @Mainstreet who compared his mobility to Kyler.

I’m guessing his mobility is in the Baker Mayfield/late-model Dak Prescott range. He’s going to be one of the worst five QBs in the NFL.

I've seen Dobbs run and take snaps, maybe not with the Cardinals, but I have watched video on him.

Actually, some of the video was even posted on this forum. He is quite capable of running the ball.

I'm not expecting the Cardinals to field a winning team this season. I'm a realist. I know what it takes to rebuild a team.

During off years, I watch the players and look for progress, including the coaches and GM. The Cardinals need to start laying a foundation this season.

Gannon is the decider, now he must have felt comfortable with starting Tune and evaluated him better with upside then the old colt, before trading For Dobbs and cutting Colt.

either way they competition continues into the regular season. May the best man win.

I think it's clear there was no comfort with what they had. The first team couldn't move the ball in preseason, they probably couldn't move the ball in practice either, the offense simply wasn't working.

They asked the OC if he had any ideas and he was like "there was this guy in Cleveland... he never played but he was seemed pretty smart, knew the plays at least, lets bring him in!"

I'm obviously being glib, but I doubt that take is far off. The 1st string offense was putrid in preseason and I think in their desperation for an answer they went looking for someone who "knows the system" and was available on the cheap.

However.... Dobbs is 28 years old and has been a 3rd string and practice squad guy his whole career. The whole situation screams of desperation.

I think that is being generous.

Not a single QB on this list is worse than Dobbs.
