The Philadelphia 76ers have dealt with a ton of injuries in the 2024-25 season as they have had players in and out of the lineup and a ton of new faces to work in. Through 71 games, the Sixers have used a whopping 47 different starting lineups due to injuries and new faces.

All of this has caused the Sixers to sit at 23-48 with 11 games remaining as they are just playing out the string. However, this team has continued to fight and show a lot of pride on a nightly basis.

For example, the Sixers had their chances against the San Antonio Spurs and the Atlanta Hawks on this current 6-game road trip, but they weren't able to get over the hump. Mainly because of a lack of cohesion with each other at this stage of the season.

"Definitely something to be proud of," Grimes told reporters. "You’re playing teams with their full roster, and we down towards seven or eight guys, you know what I mean? We got a lot of two-ways that are kind of in and out. They got a certain amount of games they can play. A couple 10-days so you gotta tip your hat."

Two-way players in the NBA are limited to only 50 days with the team. Therefore, the Sixers have had to make Jeff Dowtin Jr., Jalen Hood-Schifino, and Alex Reese inactive in recent games in an effort to conserve them for the final games of the season just so they can have bodies.

"The team’s been fighting every night," Grimes added. "We got a lot of adversity fighting through. I mean, to be in every game that we’re playing in is really a testament to how hard these dudes been working. Taking care of their body, paying attention in the film session. We just gotta keep fighting every day, but it's definitely something to be proud of."

While most want the Sixers to lose--for obvious reasons--Grimes and Co. are focused on getting wins. Players have too much pride to go out there and intentionally lose. That has been the case for Philadelphia as of late despite coming up short.

"Yeah, I mean, that's what we want to do," Grimes finished. "That’s the name the game. You want to win every time on the court, but it's hard to get get chemistry with a guy you only play one or two games with and stuff like that. So I mean, them guys playing have been together for two, three years now. I mean, it's tough just trying to get on a chemistry basis when you got guys coming in real quick, flying in the day of games, just like that. We got to keep fighting, keep clawing and we'll scratch one out for sure."

The Sixers will finish their 6-game road trip on Monday when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans.
