Ottis Anderson, who should be in the HOF and doesn't even make the cut but Leroy Kelly gets in .

An obscure guy, nationally, i think is Eric Hill. He's probably the Cards best LB.

Another guy, who people hate, but was pretty darn good for the Cards is Simeon Rice.

Eric Hill & Rice, very good thoughts. OJ in his very few years was unbelieveable. I will never forget his 1st game when he nearly single handedly kicked the Cowpies ass, the fastest big man I had ever seen early on.

I like Eric Hill on this list but I just can't include guys like Rice who are better known for their play for other teams.

Larry Centers? Really? Ugh, 8 yards a catch overrrated player on bad football teams. There was no way he should have been the focus of the offense--but gutless Qbs and bad offenses helped him pad his stats.

Aeneas Williams, hands down.

I knew there was a reason I liked you!!!

Hands down!

I would go with Eric Swann.

Injuries ruined his career, but he was dominate. According to one of our resident NFL experts (Harry), opposing offensive lineman took many cheapshots on him early in his career because he was so unstoppable.

He went to a few Pro Bowls in his career, and IMO was the best defensive tackle I've ever seen. Swann was not a big fat ass as a 300 lbs., he was a mountain of muscle and had amazing speed and quickness for a man his size. He never received the credit he deserved, and will go down in Cardinals history as our most dominate lineman.

To this day, and I've been watching football for a long time, Swan is one the 5 most dominate defensive linemen I've ever seen period! During his day there wasn't ANYONE who could block this man child without help! As for cheapshots, the main cheapshot artist is on ESPN and goes by the name of mark schlereth! Swann used to routinely whip his can and schlereth resorted to the cut blocking and other illegal blocking to try to contain him! It's so sad because when I think of the defensive line the cardinals should have had with swann, wadsworth and rice, this should have been a legendary unit but those darn injuries got the best of swann and wadsworth, and we know what happened to rice!

I think if I remember correctly the Iggles would cut Swannies legs on a regular basis & I think he suffered a few knee injuries from him. Swann was a beast!!!

Alright, I'm getting tired. Great drop-off once in AZ. Very high % of these players listed played on the Offensive side of the ball. I didn't even get to the Whiz era of players, where the brunt of our better players reside.

Anneas Williams is the best player NFL fans have never heard of. He's one of the great CBs in the history of the NFL, IMO.

Hey, DCR, I found a new place for chilli cheese dogs. Right off the train so youknowwho won't have to walk. :)
Mulli, you ever go to the Italian Village on Monroe?

It has 3 floors, each with a different restaurant. The basement is a steak place, the main floor is a little fancier but the place upstairs is called the village. Good food, good prices and kick ass atmosphere. My dad used to hang out there 5x a week 40 years ago.

Hand's down, Larry "Fearless" Wilson. Number 8, played with casts on both hands. Wish the young Cardinal fans could have seen him play. From the Old timer!

ah...the memories!!! BTW you did forget the greatest Cardinal ever...Larry Wilson. He is Mr Cardinal, over 40 years of service to the team as a player & decision maker.

How about QB Jim Hart or the instant hero Charlie Trippi from the U. of Georgia.

What I remember about Larry Wilson was him playing a game with both arms in a cast and then making an interception. Not a long kicker but Jim Baken was about as consistent as you can get. If the game was on the line you could always count on Jim.

Larry doesn't meet the qualifications since he is in the Hall of Fame.

I'd nominate Tootie Robbins (10 years at RT for the Cards and Bobby Joe Conrad PK turned RB turned All-Pro WR. Combined with Sonny Randle, Charley Johnson and Jackie Smith to put together a stretch in the Mid-sixties where the Cards won 9 of 14 games three times in 6 seasons.

I always hate threads like this because it shows just how awful the Cards were their first 20 years in Arizona. Just look at how most of the names mentioned are guys that came from St.Louis.

Most fans know about Aeneas I would think.

Eric Swann and Larry Centers, EJ Junior and Eric Hill are about the only guys even us die hard fans can come up with.

Most of the other guys like Ken Harvey, Jay Novacek, Tim McDonald, Garrison Hearst and Thomas Jones all gained recognition playing somewhere else.

Bobby More also made all pro playing somewhere else as Ahmad Rashad. Married Bill Cosby's television wife.
