You can live in dreamland or you can accept reality.

Trying to out star the Rams would be a futile exercise that would leave us in cap hell, and ultimately have you and the other darksiders saying next year "Why did Keim blow all the cap space signing X, Y and Z only to finish 2nd anyway. He sucks".

That doesn't mean we can't beat them though. If collecting 30+ year old former stars like infinity stones was the way to win the superbowl everyone would be doing it.
So ask yourself why we’re in this position? We are actually reduced to accepting reality we can’t compete.

I really don’t see how you see any rainbow.

Wasn’t Tom Brady a FA? And he attracted what . . . other FAs? You can’t ignore that just because you want to.

Also, as Harry pointed out, the cap is a reason owners throw out for not wanting to spend. Multiple teams have shown for years that if you really want to splurge you can do so. Then, like a smart organization, you take your cap lumps in a known down year (after your franchise QB and coach retire). Acquire talent when you’re good, pay the consequences when you know you’re going to be bad. Start over.
Yes. Like when Palmer and Arians retired. Our idiot GM goes out and spends millions on Bradford and Glennon when in reality we should have sold the house and the boat and started over.

Stafford ain't the Rams biggest concern. I can see Stafford playing another 4-5 years.

The Rams biggest concern is Donald. He's 31. He's not a big space eating DT that could play pretty well until 34-35 like Suh. I don't know how long he has left at a high level because he's a freak but when the Rams lose that threat it changes a lot for the Rams. Donald might be the only defensive player in the league that contributes more than a QB. Which is why the Rams made the SB with Goff back there.
Totally agree.

If Donald falls off even 10%, the Rams might lose two extra games. He's that good.

No Stout. I want to add depth and fill holes like WR2 by resigning our own players that are familiar with the scheme like Green and Alford. And they are pretty much the only two guys over 30 I have advocated signing (actually also Calais for the right money because he's still legit great).

I do not advocate signing 32 year old linebackers for $10m a year or 29 year old WR's for $16m a year.

Green makes sense because another year in the scheme should see improvement and as I've said before he already gave us the 3rd best value at WR of all WR in the league last year. But I would also draft a WR.
The biggest issue with the Raiders trading for and signing Davante to that big contract is that he will almost 100% never match his current production.

Humphries is being paid an average salary for a LT. Not a bad contract at all.
I dont think its a bad contract, my point was more that the Rams are spending almost half of what we are on OL.

Pugh has been a bit overpaid...and probably Hudson too.

The Cardinals inability to find decent OL through the draft has killed their cap to a degree. Humphries is actually a bargain, as is Beachum, so it's not a total dumpster fire cap wise.

Winning a super bowl and sucking for 20 years would be a win win for some people here.

Obviously, you get the super bowl win but you get the bonus of being able to moan your ass off on here for another 20 years too. And you can bet your life not one of them would say it was worth it for the super bowl win.
Dude, we are all here constantly discussing the team with the longest championship drought in sports. Do you honestly think we all don't just want this team to win? The methods taken to get there are up for debate, but if you think people on a Cardinals message board secretly want the Cardinals to lose, I'm afraid you are way, way off. It's a ridiculous and insulting take, honestly.

But their O line is also Noteboom, Edwards, Allen, Evans, Havenstein. Obviously not an area they want to focus a lot of their cap space.

I didn't say anybody wanted the Cardinals to win. I said some would wallow in the opportunity to be negative like pigs in muck.

I wanted us to sign Wagner. He’s lethal against the run. We need to be better vs. the run. Solution - Sign Wagner. I don’t care about the financial Inside Baseball.

See the problem/Fix fhe problem. Don’t overthink the money. Just get it done, and then onto the next problem. If MB isn’t Einstein, he shouldn’t act like he is.

Keep it simple and ride the odds. Don’t think you can outsmart them. (Luck is blind).

Jesus give this a rest. You bellyache about other posters in almost every post now. It’s tired and lame.

And everyone here wants to win. So stop telling fans they want to complain. It’s just awful form in a sports board.
Might be awful form, but apparently it’s fully acceptable form on this board now.

Shelton probably starts at guard, not Evans. Evans has been their version of Josh Jones. He's played well at times and poorly at times.

While the Rams have added Robinson and Wagner, losing Whitworth, Corbett, and Miller are big losses. Whitworth was a damn good LT. He dominated Chandler every match up. Noteboom is a decent player...but he isn't Whitworth.

Calling out fandom? No.

There are swathes of fans here moaning about every single thing for weeks after an 11 win season. It's not a stretch of the imagination to imagine what they would be like with permanent suckitude.

And considering the level of venom around here after an 11 win season, and how certain sections moan every single off season (the term darksiders exist for a reason) I can only conclude that that's just how they like to act.

Oh and criticizing the obviously childish behavior of your franchise QB isn't being dark.
So, you shake your message board finger like a martinet and metaphorically scream that no one is allowed to moan, and when YOU moan it's "obviously" okay because it's you. Man, you've really gone around a bend this offseason. You're the only one allowed to complain unless others complain the same way YOU complain. Unless someone complains about complainers, because that's fine too. lol Okay Brit.

There's a huge difference between moaning about real issues and moaning about literally everything.

We're aren't doing doing enough. Oh we did something now? But not that, why that? This player we signed sucks. He's too old/young. He was garbage on that garbage team. The player he replaced sucked too but so does this guy. Did I mention Keim sucks in this thread yet? Why did we extend him and Kliff? I know we had 11 wins but so what after losing in the playoffs to the eventual superbowl winners? All our young players suck. They haven't shown anything to say they can replace the vets. But also we should get younger, we're too old.

Its incessant. Its negativity for the sake of negativity.

So only moan about what BritCard thinks is moan-worthy. What made you the arbiter of all that is right and wrong with the Cards. Right, this is a message board, so every poster--which you conflate into one poster, basically--gets to post whatever they want. Get it?

Nope. Not at all what I said. But maybe not moan about literally everything? That would be a good start. Because there is as much to be positive about as negative and when people are constantly negative I know it's just because they want to be.

And not just you, there are 5 or 6 that turn every thread into a hell pit of misery and doom.

Do what you like, it's a free world. I'm just going to start putting constant Darksiders on ignore so it's not depressing every time I come on here.

You're conflating every poster that posts anything negative, though. I like the Hernandez signing, for depth/possibility of development purposes. Yet all of us are supposedly moaning about him and everything. Re-signing our depth guys is necessary. Gladney has upside. I've said all of this at various times. Not a single poster "literally moans about everything." If you're going to be pissed that every move has its detractors, be prepared to live perpetually pissed off. It is unrealistic to think that different people won't moan about different things.

He may not match his numbers but he's going to make Carr a better QB and make the other WR's better by being on the field. He's drawing all the focus(and will still put up big numbers) allowing the #2 and 3 guys better matchups. His affect will be much like Hopkins with the Cards.
The great thing is we got Hopkins for a 2nd and David Johnson, not a 1 and 2 plus like the Raiders did, lol.

I kind of quit paying attention to Brit when he tried to "teach" me that Bill Davis was a worthy coach and should be on the Cards staff. Just look at his coaching career and how it's spiraled down the toilet from DC of the Cards all the way to a position coach in college. And he doesn't have that job if he wasn't Urban Meyer's best man at his wedding.

That football lifers bounce around is par for the course and for myriad reasons.

Is our current DC, Vance Joseph, Davis' best buddy or is it KK, Keim or Mike Bidwill?
