He hasn't had any help upfront. Sounds familiar huh....He did help them to the playoffs his rookie year. Wilson who has many raving has a long way to go for that.
I have watched entirely to much of him. He IMO just isnt a good QB. He is mediocre at best regardless of his OL. Certainly was not worth of the #1 overall pick. Its year 3 for him. When did he lead Rams to playoffs?
They didn't make the playoffs his rookie year, they lost the last game of the season to Seattle and lost the division.
BRadford blows!
Incorrect. Dude has horrid line and no WRs.
Give him the WRs of any team in the division and he'd be a kid in a candy store. Give him protection with that and he'd blow...up.

I hate to disagree with KrangtheShanebut I'm with you. Bradford has been sabotaged from within. I worry about his injury issues but talent-wise, he's a top 10 or better QB.

1. SKELTONNow that Skelton and Wilson have won their respective competitions, we know who the NFC West QBs are going to be (at least for the opener). This is certainly not an exciting group of QBs we're discussing here, but this is a challenging topic, nonetheless.
I'll add more context later, but here's my order:
1. Sam Bradford
2. John Skelton
3. Alex Smith
4. Russell Wilson
What say you?
You're absolutely right but do you really think those two inches will make that big of a difference? If Brees were 2 inches shorter, would he be a spot player like Flutie or would he remain just as effective (in the right offense)? I don't want to take this too far because let's face it, every undersized QB gets supported by the Brees comparison and none of them are Drew Brees. But, Wilson is pretty special IMO.
BTW, I'd love to see Wilson and Brees side by side. Watching them play I find it hard to believe they're 2 inches apart.
Steve
Modern era NFL and we have Flutie and ........??????? who had any success that was under 6' tall.
Let's say Wilson meets your expectations and plays incredibly well and let's say it's for several years. Then a QB comes into the league who is 5'8" tall and equals Wilson play.
Then a 5'6" QB is given a chance.....
At some point those 2 inches will be an insurmountable disadvantage. The question is what is that height. I say that bar is at 6' but it could be 5'10".
I think Wilson will be the one that determines if 5'10" is simply too short because he has everything else you are looking for in a QB.
I hate to disagree with KrangtheShane but I'm with you. Bradford has been sabotaged from within. I worry about his injury issues but talent-wise, he's a top 10 or better QB.

yup. But Skelton is the most likely to move up IMOSmith
Bradford

Hey everyone, I'm glad to now be a part of this site.. This kind of thing, in my opinion, is just the definition of DENIAL. I'm pretty sure if you asked any objective, informed fan around the NFL today this same question, their answer would look something like this:In the first 3 Quarters:
1)Alex Smith
2)Sam Bradford
3)Wilson
4)Skelly
In the 4th Quarter/overtime:
1)Skelton Skelton Skelton
2)Alex Smith
3)Sam Bradford
4)Wilson

I hope I am not viewed as a troll, because that is not my intention. I believe the best way to gain useful information about your closest opponents is to engage in thoughtful debate with the fan base. There are plenty of you who appear to think with your brains, but for the rest, how can you not honestly recognize that Russell Wilson has 10 times the potential of a John Skelton? I'd be the first to admit that 4 fantastic showings in a row doesn't mean anything in the preseason, but I am so sick and tired of the whole "height" angle that people use to dismiss RW. The kid dropped back in Wisconsin to pass behind the largest offensive line in all of college football, a line that is comparable in size to the offensive lines of today's NFL. During that entire season, he had 2 balls batted down. He has an intimate understanding of the game of football and knows how to effectively use his athletic abilities to find passing lanes through which to deliver his throws. Although he is very capable of scrambling for extra yardage if needed, he passes from the pocket MUCH more than people believe. I think that ANYONE who honestly views JOHN SKELTON as a greater candidate for top QB in the NFC W than Russell Wilson is either severely lacking in proper judgement and intelligence, OR is just out-right lying to themselves (the likely cause). When it comes to defense, there is definitely a case to be made for Arizona, although we will see about that in a week. Arizona may also be considered to have a good set of offensive weapons, equal or possibly even better than Seattle's arsenal. But when it comes to the QB, let's call a spade a spade here guys, and face the fact that Russell Wilson is the real deal. This is not a statement about how bad John Skelton is, because I actually believe the guy has a lot of potential. I watched with great respect last year as he led the Cardinals to strong finish. This is more of a statement that Russell Wilson is just that good, and deserves to be taken seriously. Because I think one of the last things you want to do in week 1 is to sleep on Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.
And btw, there is ZERO doubt in my mind that by this time next season, the list will be more like this:
1. Wilson

Just to address your thoughts...Interesting first post. I'm not a troll but....
Objective thoughts typically don't include phrases like Zero Doubt in my mind and 10 times the talent as.
Glad you and the Seahawks fan base have a QB to be excited about. Many on here think the kid has a ton of potential. Obviously your objective thought processes has accurately dubbed Wilson as the next Drew Brees by the way you have these QB's ranked after this year.
Use paragraphs more often.
And some posters prefer dragging the rest of the QB's, including Wilson, down to Skelton/Kolb's level rather than just admitting the truth, which is that every single person on this message board with a working brain would give up ten John Skeltons to take a shot on this kid Wilson.
Mabel, I agree with literally everything you just said. I fully expect Arizona's defense, which is rightfully feared, to bring it on sunday. I expect Wilson to be flushed out of the pocket on numerous occasions, and I expect that he will experience much more chaotic and complex blitzes and schemes than he's accustomed to. This is what I am most excited for, because I can't wait to see how the kid reacts to this, and how he picks himself up. I don't expect much in the way of production in week 1 from RW, but I do expect to see him adapt and overcome, and hopefully come out with a W. In fact, the vast majority of Seahawks fans are well aware that it may take several seasons for the kid to fulfill his potential, if he ever does. He has made himself a pretty enormous bed with his pre-season performances, and I just hope he can sleep in it. But I couldn't be more pleased that we are facing one of the toughest defenses on the schedule right out of the starting gate so he can really test his mettle.Welcome to the board! As long as you keep it civil, you'll find some good discussion around here.
Now, I'm not the biggest Skelton fan around, but the guy is basically 8-4 as a starter with five 4th quarter comebacks in his young career. And, I like Russell Wilson's potential, thought he had a fantastic preseason, and would probably trade him over either of our QBs right now, but the guy is still 0-0 and has not set foot on an NFL field against a defense that has actually implemented a gameplan against him. We have a very good defense that thrives on bringing pressure from all over the field, and I think we are going to come after Wilson hard in week one to see what he's really got. I still like Wilson's long-term potential, but I believe that our defense is going to burst Wilson's preseason bubble in a week and people are going to realize that the kid still has a heck of a lot to learn.
Be happy to come back and eat some crow if I'm wrong -- heck, it sure happened last year when Cam Newton came to town week one -- but this defense is leaps and bounds ahead of where they were back then.
Just to address your thoughts...
**I do use paragraphs. I'm not sure where in the literal world paragraphs could be described as 2 or 3 sentence groupings of random thoughts. The subject remained uniform, and so the paragraph wasn't broken. Let's talk football, not proper writing technique.
I'm really not the grammar police. It's just easier to read when broken into paragraphs more often. You had about 10 inches of words grouped together.
**You put the words "next Drew Brees" into my mouth. The reason for the wide gap between Wilson and the rest of the NFC W QB's in my hypothetical "this is where they'll be next season" statement has not so much to do with Wilson being that good, but rather, everyone else being that bad. I challenge you to give a convincing argument against the collective belief that the NFC W has by far the worst QB's in the NFL... It does.
Based on the spacing it looked like that to me. I don't think Wilson will be that much better then the other QB's in this division but I won't argue that currently most would say the NFCW has the weakest QB talent.
**I'm not a troll and have no intention to be. I am quite fond of the Cardinals as an organization and as a fan base, and have always found myself rooting for them once my beloved Seahawks are eliminated. But your quarterback situation isn't ideal. In fact some are calling it a mess. And some posters prefer dragging the rest of the QB's, including Wilson, down to Skelton/Kolb's level rather than just admitting the truth, which is that every single person on this message board with a working brain would give up ten John Skeltons to take a shot on this kid Wilson.
