Ok.. What is some of the best lines in hip-hop? Imma go with Sticky Fingaz... "Imma B-boy, standing in my B-boy stance, hurry up and gimme the microphone before I bust in my pants"

Pretty corny, but still not too bad.

"***** please, like short sleeves I bear/bare arms"

5 points to whoever can tell me whose line it is without googling it. Also what song and album?

@gee

what other rap songs would you recommend?
old or new..
preferrably with good beats..
thanks

I would read thru this whole thread.. Phillycard says some good ones too..

For hip-hop its more about personal taste.. There are so many different kinds of hip-hop.. Radio plays what it plays.. Then there is underground, backpack, battle rappers, westcoast and knowledge...

dodie, that is so subjective. Gee is right. Good beats in hip hop could mean anything like Dre's simplistic bangers, or something as complex as DJ Premier's grimy cut and paste beats. If you're a west coast or down south cat, you might hate Jay Dee produced music, and alternately if you like east coast hip hop, Organized Noise might not do it for you. Who do you like now? Then we can go from there. ;)

J5 cool with me but I gotta admit, Eminem and Wu drive me up a wall like no other.. Well ODB was cool.. I just cant understand Ra spitting on Triumph making up words.. Thats not cool with me at all.. Seems ignorant..

Wow ..... Great thread... Here are some of my top rappers....

Outkast (back in the southernplayalisticcaddilacmusak days) Hate the new ish. Andre is amazing.
Kurupt - Awesome on his own. IMO
Dr. Dre -
Bone Thugs (Back in the Creepin on ah come up days) But I dig the new album also.
Eminem
Mystikal - Back in the day.
LL - I'm Bad is a great track.
The Game

My all time fave has GOT to be Ice Cube.... This guy is a machine. Steady Mobbin!

Things I don't like:

Anything Master P is involved in.
Juvenile & All his bud's.
Nelly
Most of Murder Inc's stuff.
