The Suns play the Raptors with a scheduled 7 PM Arizona start time. The Raptors are on a four game losing streak. This is a game the Suns players and fans may find difficult to get excited about, which makes it dangerous. After this game the Suns do not play again until Tuesday at the Lakers. Hopefully this break may give the team some impetus to win. See link to Paul Coro article at azcentral dated 12-6-13.

Raptors (6-11) at Suns (10-9) … 7 p.m. Phoenix tip time

C: Jonas Valanciunas … Miles Plumlee

PF: Tyler Hansbrough … Channing Frye

SF: Rudy Gay … P.J. Tucker

SG/PG: DeMar DeRozan … Goran Dragic

PG: Kyle Lowry … Eric Bledsoe

Key Raptors injuries: None.

Key Raptors reserves: Amir Johnson, Terrence Ross, Julyan Stone, Steve Novak, Landry Fields.

Steve Albert just said that the Raptors are in a strange situation. They might make playoffs, or they might end up in the lottery. I kid you not- that's exactly what he said.

Tucker seems to have raised the level of his play. Whether this is temporary or permanent, only time will tell.

EJ mentions that he likes dogs, so Steve Albert says, "My dog taught me a trick -- to roll over . . . and I don't even have a dog."

What a freaking waste of words.

And his bad habit of having to get the last word on everything his color commentators say -- both EJ and Ann Meyers Drysdale.

Albert's behavior is obviously trying to cover up an inferiority complex. With him as the least talented announcer of the 3 Albert brothers by far, it is understandable. But it's not pleasing to listen to.

He should be announcing high school games in New York. I wonder who made the decision to bring him to Phoenix.

The key to maintaining one's sanity, is tuning out these broadcasters. :)

The more I watch Bledsoe play, the more I am realizing just how low his basketball IQ is.
He can stay in front of his man on D, and he can get to the rim at will, but outside of that, his basketball IQ is no more than one notch above Beasley's.

Did your account get hacked or are you trolling?

I have read a lot of stupid stuff on here (including my very own :D) but if you just said that Bledsoe is only a notch above Beasley in terms of basketball IQ, it takes the cake for #1.

I was watching the Raptors broadcast and they spent the whole game praising the Suns.

Yup, I was so happy Jack Armstrong was the color man on the Raptors broadcast last night. I love that guy. So great not having to listen to Steve and Eddie.

Obviously, I had the home team broadcasters. Maybe we can work a trade.

I think there is some truth in this but I would not compare most anyone to Beasley. The only thing holding Bledsoe back is himself. He needs to learn the game better. I have secretly questioned his basketball IQ but I have attributed it to his youth. Dragic did not set the world on fire until later in his career.

This is not fine anywhere. I would have thrown Jonas out of the game for throwing a punch. If he had landed with his fist or elbow there would have been some serious damage to Plumlee. Then he bumps head with one of the Morris twins. I don't know what the referees were thinking.

Beasley is definitely on the same end of the spectrum Bledsoe is on but he's SEVERAL notches below. For example, Eric is still not really good at reading the defense and predicting where the rotation is going to come from. Not in the same way Nash was (ok, he's far on the other end). I actually think IQ wise, Ish is better than both Dragic and Eric. Too bad he doesn't really have the skills or size to leverage it.

Yeah, I definitely pulled a Bill Walton-like hyperbole on that one, but Bledsoe is the only player on the Suns that causes me to scream "What the hell are you doing? No, no no, no!" and face-palm during every game.

There was less than two minutes left in the game, the Suns had the possession, and were up by either 9, 10, or 11 points. Bledsoe gets the inbound pass, proceeds to run to the hoop in no more than 6 seconds and throws up a bad shot. To me, that's extremely poor basketball IQ. You get the ball, quickly get it over, and hold the ball until there is 5 seconds left and then you make the play.

Don't get me wrong, I think Bledsoe is easily the best player/ individual contributor on this team, but at times, he is beyond infuriating.

I realize he is a young kid, that he is finally getting his first chance to be an impact player, and I don't expect him to be equal to Dragic in terms of leadership and basketball IQ, but he just does some bone-headed things that really drive me insane.

I was listening to Al McCoy in the car on that play. His comment after the play was, "Well, I guess Eric thought he had a clear lane to the hoop and that was the best move for him at the time. We will see." He had a touch of sarcasm in his voice.

On the next possession he said, "Goran Dragic is now bringing the ball out of the backcourt and running the offense." The tone of his voice was clearly indicating that he also wanted to say "instead of Eric Bledsoe who pulled a boneheaded move on the last play."

Which is why I posted recently that Eric Bledsoe is not a Point Guard. He'll pick up some assists (who doesn't?), but he is an undersized Shooting Guard.

His strongest asset was our greatest need last season -- a go-to guy in the 4th quarter. I don't take that lightly. But he is not a Point Guard. He does not make the players around him better when he is on the court.

Good old Al! I wish the Suns could win a title before he retires, or at least while he's still alive. He deserves it. Given that he's already 80, though, it seems pretty unlikely.

It would be nice for the disciple of Chick Hearn to join his fraternity, even with just one. Back in the day, Al sure was easier to listen to than Hot Rod Hundley.

I think you guys are overstating how bad Albert is. Sure, he's not the best and portrays himself as a buffoon but he and Eddie don't ruin the broadcast or make it unwatchable or anything.

Cool to hear about the Raptor broadcast. I'm going to rewatch the game with them today. I'm really digging the NBA Hangtime app on my PS4 in combination with League Pass where I can watch any broadcast on the big screen. DTV didn't even have the Raptor broadcast last night.

Hopefully, Bledsoe's basketball IQ can grow with time. I'm sure Horny and crew are in his ear and they'll review his mistakes on video.

I grew up with Al and love the guy dearly. I too would love for the Suns to win the championship in his lifetime. Reminds me of his "Somebody up there is on our side." quote during the '76 finals. Heck, I just pray that the Suns win it all some time in my lifetime. I'm hoping to spend another 50 years on this planet.
