Are they trying to lose? Why did they not pinch hit for Ahmed there?

And Peralta hits into DP to end the game.

Bases loaded, no one out, and can't get a run home.

Goodness, really could have won that series...

Not really... Bradley wasn't good at all today... Goldy crapped the bed... can't come up empty when batting with the bases loaded and no outs...
Our offense in general was terrible. So not clutch at all. Sprinkle in a single here or there when there is no consequence. Just brutal...

Chris Owings hasn't played since Sunday.

Chris Owings is fighting plantar fascitis in both heels, a condition that goes back to 2010 when he was 18 years old.

I appreciate how he stepped in admirably and filled a need in CF when we lost Pollock. But whether in CF, SS or at 2B, he does not dominate.

From an overall prospective, this only heightens Nick Ahmed (and his .200 batting average) with a lock on the SS job.

Well that sucks about his foot, but yeah, the lack of appearance now that Peralta is back concerns me. I like Owings better than Ahmed

Both feet?? Dang... I had that a few years ago in one foot and the pain was excruciating...Didn't want to get out of bed as the minute I stepped foot on the floor, it felt like I was stepping on needles!
But as you said, he was certainly not any type of game-changer in any sense of the word. However, with him out, I guess we'll see even more of Ahmed. Which is so awesome... :bang:

We can't even take 2 of 3 at home against a bad Rays team....

Goldy strikes out with bases loaded in bottom of ninth..
He didn't just strike out, he looked horrible doing it.

He used to have incredible plate discipline now he's waving at pitches a foot and a half off the outer edge.

He's been better lately but he's still a shell of his former self.

Hate to sound like Pollyanna but I think we could get by with just 2 more .

You joke, but outside of PIT and CLE, no team is really competitive this year with a payroll under $135M. We are currently at $98M, or $37M short of the magic number.

Those other two teams are doing it with home grown talent that is finally maturing.

The Diamondbacks problem is that they have neither the cash to buy in at the competitors table, nor the patience and skills to develop a team of homegrown talent, so they sit in the soft squishy middle.

I think Goldy is loved by everyone on here.

It's like having a child who is a perennial honor roll student and you see them start to slip and you don't know why.

It's not just his numbers, they are actually pretty good.He walks a lot because teams still know Goldy can beat you with one swing.

In Goldy's case, he looks lost at the plate sometimes, at least that's what I see. He swings at balls he didn't before. When they show a closeup of him he has a different look in his eyes (sometimes) I didn't see that in the past.

When I point this out I am in no way dissing him, just relaying what I am observing. If I were a manager, I would love to have him on my team. He has so much upside and I don't think he has reached his potential yet.

Bingo! As I've posted, Goldy mentioned some time ago that he wasn't seeing the ball as well when it leaves the Pitcher's hand.

He needs an eye checkup, which might lead to corrective action.

A few weeks ago, I sent a message to GM Dave Stewart suggesting they have Goldy visit Schwartz Laser Eye Center - teameyedoc.com (one of their advertisers and team eye clinic for the D-backs, Suns and Coyotes).

My closing line to Stew was, "What do you have to lose?" I have received no response nor have I heard the announcers make any reference to it.

He's getting held to Barry Bonds' standards. Scorching hot for 2 weeks then one bad game. Baseball is the ultimate peaks and valleys sport.

If our professional baseball franchise isn't keeping track of their player's vision issues we have much bigger problems then we thought.

Mark McGuire needed contacts later on in his career.

No offense, but I suspect sports teams generally ignore write in health advice from their fans. Furthermore, I also suspect Goldy and everyone else on the club has their vision checked annually.

Seriously, it’s really odd timing as well. The last 30 days he’s put up .316/.441/.516 and the last 14 days he’s put up .386/.509/.705.
