what's jean segura's numbers look like since he took that baseball to the head? his BA has tanked.

.194/.259/.269 in 58 PAs.

It was .186/.239/.279 in the 46 PAs before that though.

May 12th was "peak Segura"

A leadoff hitter who doesn't walk. The league has figured out how to pitch to him. Now he needs to figure out how to hit against them. Some do, some never do.

Seriously, it’s really odd timing as well. The last 30 days he’s put up .316/.441/.516 and the last 14 days he’s put up .386/.509/.705.

I gave up trying to argue about Goldy's supposed decline. I agree, the guy is fine. He started off slow, but only by all-star standards, and of late he has been raking.

But he has some nebulous "look in his eyes"

GOLDY looks much more back to his old self. Nobody comes through with bases loaded everytime, but he is getting way more of his old "goldy" hits and the way the ball is coming off his bat tells me he is seeing the ball much better than earlier in the year.

The problem is that as expected, once he got it going the other guys cooled off.

Regardless, it's painfully obvious that this team just doesn't have the pitching staff to compete consistently.

And I'm not even pinning last night on Hale, 2 guys lost that game for us last night and they both came out of the bullpen. This is why you shouldn't trade away all of your pitching prospects for freaking position players as the Dbacks have made a habit of the last 5 years.
