For those who don't want to wade through the text of the article, the rumor is Marion, Johnson, and the #7.

That's a pretty steep price. The Suns would have to have some excellent FA targets in mind for this to make any sense.

Who could they replace Marion with?

Zarko is NOT going to cut it. Hell, that lineup would not cut it.

This sounds like the Magics dream price. I'm not saying never but didn't BC laugh recently at the idea of giving anything more than Marion?

MAybe if other players were involved I might believe this.

How about Marion, JJ, #7 and Eisley

for

McGrady and Howard or Gooden

Darius Miles, Bruce Bowen,

TMac could play SF and the Suns could pursue Kobe, Ginobili or Quentin Richardson. Or Jamal Crawford.

Marion, Johnson and #7. Might still be worth it but it is tough to call. I deally I would prefer a 3rd team be involved like Porland who gives us #13 and #21 for #7 so we get #21 and the Magic get #21.

I would much rather trade Zarko and the rights to Vujanic though like suggested earlier and draft Josh Smith to replace Marion. That would work out nicely for me.

It depletes our already weak rebounding team! JJ you can argue is superflous with TMac shooting the rock. Now what at the Small Forward slot? I know, we need to trade Marion to get Kobe! I'll believe THAT when I see it! Kobe and TMac on the same team would be like World B. Free and Allen Iverson on the same squad. Noone else would EVER see the ball during games!! Might as well let them play 2 on 5 on offense!! :)

Juwan Howard's contract is much worse than Eisley's though. It runs like 5 or 6 more years.

Marion, JJ, Eisley, Zarko and the rights to Vujanic for McGrady and Howard. Done deal.

Marion, JJ,#7 and Eisley for TMac and Gooden. Done deal. Trade Gooden for a pick that gets us Josh Smith or take on a contract from another team for their pick to get Josh Smith.

I'm confused. This is like the 5th trade rumor I've read that involves Nash and multiple other Mavs players for Shaq. First off I thought Nash was a free agent. Secondly I thought you couldn't do a sign and trade with multiple players. And thirdly does anyone ever consider if Nash wants to go to Los Angeles?

I guess I'm just not understanding how Nash could be involved in this supposed Shaq trade.

I take responsibility for that. I thought that was the rule, so I kept repeating it, but it turns out I was wrong.

Still, the Mavericks would need Nash's cooperation.

True, but Howard can actually play. In fact I doubt that he is overpriced at his current level.

Do you think the 76ers would give us #9 and we take on Aaron McKie (4 or 5yrs remaining ) ?

We could draft Josh Smith at #9 probably and sign Steve Nash or something like that.

It's entirely worth it if they can grab a guy like bowen, richardson or manu.

Barbosa
Tmac
Bowen
Amare
Lampe/Divac??

That lineup makes me feel safe. :p

I think there is almost no chance that the Spurs will let Ginobili go. Richardson is a possibility, depending on whether the Clippers really are trying to do something with O'Neal.

No, the NY Post deserves that title. Thats the newspaper whose big insider as it comes to the NBA is Peter Vescey.

They are also more known for throwing out trade rumors just to see if they stick.
