Is that why he didn't want Rondo?

Maybe DA didn't want Rondo but this does not excuse the Suns FO for not trading the pick for a future pick or a player that they liked. The whole thing, Kerr, Griffin, DA and Porter should not be de facto scouts. Also who wanted Tucker. That certainly could not have been a DA choice because of his skill set. The Suns should hire real scouts like the deceased Dick Percudani.

But if I am not mistaken, they still have hope for THIS season.

We'll see as the trade deadline nears. Now if the Suns trade Shaq do you want to be packaged as filler or future considerations?

Meant in good fun.

I think trading Shaq or Amare is more about saving LT money possibly this season and definitely for next season. Sure the Suns want picks and a player back but Sarver is all about money, especially now that the Suns are not playing well. Marion is a very hefty expiring contract. I'm not sure how the math would work with Amare. However, I'm sure Sarver is eyeing not paying Shaq 20 million next season if he feels the team is not going anywhere. I think trading Shaq for Marion works straight up. Does Sarver want to save 20 million... hmm?

In regard to players and teams opinions of each other that can change in a split second if there is something to be gained by both parties.

I understand the logistics of moving the money but the Heat don't want Shaq back. They have contacted the Suns about Amare. Also, there other viable trades out there to rid yourself of contract money without bringing in a player that wanted desperately off your team to begin with. The Suns would look at every other option before this one. If the current reports are true the Suns have already validated that.

Can anyone explain to me what the point of rebuilding is if we don't even have our pick for next year? I'm sorry to remind you all of the KT trade, but I just want to know.

Suns have their 09 pick, if I remember correctly. It's the 2010 that they don't have.

Are you sure? I really don't have a clue other than the present Shaq could help that team reach the top but the one they traded to the Suns couldn't. However, things have changed. If Miami could get Shaq back by trading Marion, I don't see why they wouldn't at least consider it if they are swinging for the fences. I'm not saying it's going or likely to happen. I can also see why they would look at Amare as a first option.

Again Marion for Shaq would likely be so easy.

Easy but not logical outside of financial reasons. Plus Suns management would take a huge PR hit for basically undoing the trade. I have not heard one single report that even gives credibility to the idea.

Then again, we are talking about the Sarver/Kerr combo so I guess anything is possible...no matter how stupid. Bank on it though...it will never happen.
