Here is the reality above all the wailing and gnashing of teeth:
The DBacks are second to last in attendance. There were times last year I couldn't give tickets away.
And then there were times when I would give them away and people just didn't go.
This is a bandwagon city and the status quo of developing the young prospects just doesn't fly here. It is LA Light. You need to make some sort of a splash to get people interested.
Was this the right move? Not sure. (Getting rid of Skaggs absolutely was the right move but I am pretty meh on the return.)
But now people are talking DBacks in the city and you will see a spike in fan interest. Hopefully it works out and people will be asking me for tickets instead of me chasing people down.
