Another great recruiting class for the Devils. Graham has shown the ability to up the recruiting each year he has been here. This year he got the #17 rated class again (same as last year), but with 3 less commits. We were in the final 3 of several of the West's best 5-star recruits until ultimately losing out mainly to USC, great to see top recruits taking us seriously. Also reached much deeper than AZ/California only. Really hit Louisiana hard and recruits as far as Virginia show the ASU brand has national appeal.

There is so much talent on board with this class, I think we will have a couple NFL players out of this. Our worst recruit this year, likely would have been one of our higher rated ones 5 years ago. Tough to call any of the players a bad recruit because they were all special in high school and stood out in their hometown.

A few of my favorite.

JoJo Wicker. Guy has the pro potential and will likely become one of the best in the PAC-12. Really stood out (along with Rasheem Green)as a top DT in the West during US Army practices and Game. He really slapped around other top recruits like Keenan Walker (UA) and Tevita Hailalo (UCLA). Definitely someone to build around for the future. Deonte Reynolds coming in as a huge transfer means the DL has immediate help as well.

Jay Jay Wilson. The only recruit with potential qualifying issues, he will be an impact player if he makes it. He played safety at 230 and had some of the biggest hits of any prospect that I saw. Also good in coverage, plays very similar to Kam Chancellor. Would love to see him back Fiso at the WILL or perhaps become the answer at the Spur position. Players like Davon Durant, Wilson, and Khalyan Thomas guarantee an extremely physical, hard-hitting brand of football on defense. Very impressive to get them all in the same class.

Bryce Perkins. The kid was electric in winning state in Arizona. A little bit lightweight, but reminds me a ton of Brett Hundley. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up the better QB than Manny Wilkins or Brady White. If he doesn't I think he finds a home at WR, just too talented to keep off the field.

Zach Robertson. 6'4" 315 lb lineman out of perennial Socal powerhouse Bosco. He got it done playing against some of the best in high school. I think of all the recruits he is the most likely Freshman to play and possibly start at Guard.

I also have high hopes for Khaylan Thomas LB and Jalen Bates DL both very quick with a nose for the football (but will likely need to add weight), Morie Evans a speedy RB from Texas, recently signed Terrell Chatman (last year's best catch in high school here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhUhvaC0igg), huge RB Jaason Lewis from Virginia who was highly recruited on the East Coast.

I'm as excited that you guys got Chaman as I am sad Miami lost him. A bit raw but tremendous potential. I am high on this kid.

He had a strong relationship with Carroll at Miami and probably knew something was in the works. TCU was closest to family, but ASU will be a great fit.

Add a little bulk and he could develop into a force. He spent his HS days grabbing passes off target

I read the girlfriend is recanting but damage is done.

That is common in abuse situations.

She reportedly showed physical signs of abuse.

The only "good" thing in this is TG's no nonsense approach reiterating the high standards he is holding players to and not trying to play games with this. But we already knew about that.

Yeah, the win at all costs approach doesn't even usually result in winning.

ASU is getting a lot of traffic this spring with unofficial visitors. They have 2 commits on board, including a local 3-star OG from Peoria Centennial (a pipeline ASU really needs to open up).

Former Notre Dame defensive end/outside linebacker signee Bo Wallace (New Orleans, La./John Curtis) has committed to Arizona State following an official visit to Tempe, according to 247Sports National Recruiting Insider Ryan Bartow.

Wallace is another late addition to the Sun Devils 2015 recruiting class. JUCO receiver Tim White also was a late pick-up for the Sun Devils, who have a class that now ranks inside the top 20 nationally according to 247Sports.

The 6-foot-5, 213-pound Wallace was a Semper Fidelis All-American and is the No. 26 outside linebacker prospect in the 2015 cycle per 247Sports Composite rankings.

ASU Football: Safety DJ Morgan commits to the Sun Devils

http://www.houseofsparky.com/2015/5/20/8631601/asu-football-recruiting-dj-morgan-commits

St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) defensive back DJ Morgan committed to the Arizona State Sun Devils Wednesday afternoon at a commitment ceremony with two of his teammates.

Morgan, who was the second player to announce of the three, donned an ASU hat and threw up the pitchforks at the ceremony. He becomes the first defensive commit in ASU's 2016 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound safety is listed as a 4-star prospect according to Rivals. Morgan held offers from a slew of Power 5 conference teams including Cal, Nebraska, Colorado, Vanderbilt, Utah and Northwestern.

Morgan is just the fourth verbal commitment in ASU's 2016 class. He joins offensive linemen Marshal Nathe and Cohl Cabral and running back Freddie Holly.

I've never really understood the purpose of these early verbal commitments that are done before they even play football in their senior year. The school can change their mind, the player can change their mind, they still get recruited by other schools. Really what's the point?

ASU has benefited and been burnt by flips in the past.

I agree though, verbals should be binding. So either move up the National Signing Day or make verbals binding for both parties so that neither schools or recruits can screw each other over. Only way out of verbal should be either not qualifying or coaching change. I don't care if the kid has a change of heart or schools need the schollie for another player, there has to be accountability.

Hope this one sticks!

Another day, another elite junior college prospect committing to Arizona State.

Per Jason Jewell of Scout.com, the Sun Devils picked up a commitment Friday from four-star defensive end Christian Hill from Glendale (Ariz.) Community College.

Hill has a towering frame, standing 6-foot-6, 265 pounds. Scout.com has him ranked as the top strong-side defensive end recruit and No. 9 overall in its JUCO rankings.

According to 247sports.com, Hill also received offers from Oregon, Oregon State, Colorado State, UNLV, Purdue, San Diego State and Washington State.

Hill is Arizona State coach Todd Graham's fifth commit. He is also the first four-star pledge and the first front-seven defensive player to commit to ASU.

According to Jewell, Hill did not play football in high school, but served in the Air Force for four years and still is in the reserves. He will play out his sophomore year with Glendale Community College in 2015 and will join the Sun Devils in 2016 as a junior.

Just saw some footage of him, he is literally a man amongst boys (he's 22 years old) and he stands out. Thing I noticed from the clip, he has a non stop motor, he is chasing down guys 10 yards down the field.

Very impressive offer list considering he's only played 1 year of organized football.

House of Sparky article mentions he's still in the Air Force (reserves), tells me he is a high character guy & smart (he's already put in 4 years active, might as well work toward 20 and collect a retirement). Then again I don't blame him, AF active duty or reserves are the way to go, coming from a former Army guy's prospective.

Arizona State's recruiting success in Louisiana continued Sunday with the commitment of Tre Turner, considered a national Top 10 running back by one scouting service.

"I am very blessed to say that I have officially committed to Arizona State University to play football and baseball,'' Turner posted on his Twitter account. "Thanks to all the coaches who have offered me scholarships to play at (their) universities, I appreciate everything you guys have done for me throughout the process. I can't wait to meet and be a part of Sun Devil Nation."
