Yep, a little annoying. But I wouldn't care if they got all that coverage for announcing A State!

One other thing about the Kirk decision. It would have been awesome to have him on the team, but I think we are going to be very solid at WR and the slot next year. Yes, Strong will be gone, but DJ should still be around, and we had 2 huge juco transfers join the team and redshirt, Lauderdale and Hayes. I am excited about seeing what they have to offer.

Really. You are correct. I'm hoping the Sun Devils have a good recruiting class.

The philosophy of keeping in state talent may be overrated. Does losing Kirk sting, of course as he is a 5-star and any team would love to have a 5-star at any position but I would rather have kids that want to be here. If a kid wants to go out of state there is no use trying to convince him otherwise as usually their minds are made up. The last few years in state kids that ended up staying in state committed early, Chans Cox, Tyler Whitley, Trevor Wood, Keenan Walker, etc. The longer a kid draws out his recruitment the more likely they are heading out of state. I would be happy getting 4-star kids from CA, TX, etc than fret over losing in-state kids who are set on going elsewhere. ASU has won 69% of their games under Graham (27-12) and have gone to 3 straight bowl games; Rodriguez has gone 26-13 (66% winning percentage) so its not like AZ schools are bottom dwellers so those who say they need to win to get the kids to stay have no real argument. ARZ kids can't ignore the glamour of going out of state. AZ schools have done fine without them and some kids have ended up coming home after finding the grass isn't greener out of state.

In ASU's case give me Irwin & Broadus or Hawkins and we are set at WR. I am actually more interested in landing a couple of the stud LB's & DL we are still in on to finish out the class.

5 Star JC LB Davon Durant has committed to ASU. Highest ranked recruit commit in the Graham era (Westerman doesn't count since he was a transfer). Good get!

So is he going to play Devilbacker? Not sure where he fits in Graham's defensive scheme, but I am sure they will find a place for him.

ASU lands one of the last remaining big in-state prospects in 3-star RB Paul Lucas of Mountain Pointe. Kid has some serious speed and could replace Foster next year should he decide to leave for the NFL.

Lucas -- known for his speed -- is the 17th known commitment to coach Todd Graham's 2015 recruiting class and the fourth high school player from Arizona. He joins Chandler quarterback Bryce Perkins, Gilbert offensive lineman Steve Miller and Gilbert Williams Field offensive lineman Cade Cote.

azcentral sports high schools insider Richard Obert ranks Lucas (5-11 and 175 pounds) as the state's No. 3 2015 prospect. Recruiting-service Rivals ranks Lucas as the No. 8 all-purpose back in the country. Scout.com ranks Lucas as a three-star prospect and the West's fifth-best running back. 247 Sports lists Lucas as a three-star prospect as well.

ASU lands another 4-star, this time OL Zach Robertson of CA powerhouse St John Bosco Prep.

Wow, what an awesome get on many levels. We needed offensive line help, nabbed arguably the best O_line prospect in the west, and got the top player from socal's top program Bosco. Robertson has NFL size and potential, it wouldnt surprise me at all to see him starting next year.

What a whirlwind 3 days to be an ASU fan. Still some incredible prospects like Irwin, Masina, and Gustin to decide. Guarenteed a top 20 class with more to come. Wow, Graham has clearly become a coach that top prospects want to play for.

7 spots left in this class, with a lot of highly ranked kids interested. This will continue to be fun to follow.

Apparently unrated/2 star JC OT Jaypee Philbert has committed to ASU. Or at least thats what he said on Twitter. Haven't seen official word anywhere. but ASU can certainly use O-line help. Somewhat surprising considering all the high ranked kids ASU seems to still be in on, but if true, you've got to trust this staff which has done a good job both recruiting and coaching guys up.

Boom! 4-star CB Stanley Norman from Junipero Serra HS to ASU. Another big recruit for ASU from a top California high school. The bay area has been very good to the Devils the last two years.

He declared at the US Army All-American game with a custom black and gold ASU jersey labeled "Scrappy". Cool to see and good exposure for the team.

FYI on Norman---he was set to Verbally commit to UofA a while back, but the staff told him not to bother. Apparently, he's a pretty selfish player and poor teammate.

Just saying....

Lol. Espn and scout make no mention of his "silent commit" status or even an elevated interest level on his part, only show that UA offered. I'll go with the experts opinion that we got a top 10 athlete. Either way, glad he made the intelligent choice.

How can you be a selfish CB?

Where did I say it was a silent commitment? He was going to give his verbal to UofA, and was told not to because his offer was rescinded, although his options were at this point, ASU and Washington St.

Considering UofA wasn't a choice, not sure there was much intelligence used.

Obviously, you're going to believe the info you want to believe, but I'm sharing what I know about Norman.

As per the live video at the US Army American Bowl he chose between the hats on the table: Alabama, ASU, UCLA, Oklahoma, and Washington State.

Perhaps he was "selfish" in high school, but according to the NBC announcers he comes from a family with a military background and was attracted to Graham's strong leadership skills.

Btw, ua doesn't turn down 4 star recruits, instead they use up all available scholarships on 2 star kids

Please. We rescinded a 4-star CB's scholarship last season for poor conduct. We also rescinded Sherman's offer.

Nice try. You don't even know what "spin" means. The delusions of grandeur from asu have hit levels of hilarity
