Sherman stays on one side of the field while PP often plays the teams best WR all over place. Big difference. Sherman would often get beaten by the teams other best WR if he had to cover him all day as well.

Also, if you give credence to NFL players, PP was rated the 19th best player in the league. There aren't too many slouches on that list. I doubt he accumulated that status just by being a good guy. He's a very talented player.
Old story. Sherman is just much better
I rarely see Sherman beaten by opponents best receiver Even if he doesnt face them 100% of the time
But i see often normal receiver becoming All Pro against peterson
He has great tools from athletic standpoint but he is not so Smart to be a top 5 cb. He struggle to Read the play fast , giving too much field to his receiver.

You do realize Seattle plays pretty much Cover 3 and Sherman has help over the top on almost every play.

Sherman is good and, I'm not arguing that, but about every CB that has played in their system has looked good. That's probably not a coincidence.

Here's their basic scheme:

If it seems to work, why doesn't the Cards play Cover 3 most of the time too?

Not sure how people still give Peterson excuses even though he has given up most TDs(21) in the past 3 seasons(most in the NFL).

Peterson has the tools to be elite but until he works on his technique & not just get by on sheer athleticism, he never will be elite.

Arians asked the corners to pull back on coverage after the Floyd injury. I wouldn't put much stock, if any, in Peterson struggling during practice.

Peterson Sucks. I can not stand all the BS the team puts out about him with the website and commercials. His name should be Patrick Toast.

so the scheme make him great but
why even best qb's prefer not throwing the football on his side?

I am sure that many of my fellow ASFN'rs join me in thanking those of you who attended the red and white scrimmage. Some of your reports were extremely detailed, and ALL were very welcome. You have given those of us who can't attend much to digest and be greatful for, and K-9 you led this group of posters from the stadium. Thanks for the nice work ups----------it will be interesting to see just how the position battles pan out throughout camp. I am stoked to see that there is competition deep throughout the roster, and I am sure that there will be changes, (back and forth) throughout TC. That was the way it was meant to be. The starting 22 should not be easily decided this year. THANKS AGAIN for your efforts to inform us.

As an aside, I am quite sure that the apparent weakness in the middle of our O-line is what has prompted the return of Lysle Sendlein to the roster. We shall see if he can make a difference once he gets into football shape.

Huh?? Nobody argued that Sherman wasn't a really, really good player.

Sherman is easily a top 10 CB and arguebly a top 5. But the schemes helps him being the most "dangerous" CB in the game to throw at.

we dont have proofs he wouldnt be so dangerous without that scheme
but is obvious that his rivals use the story about the scheme just to delegitimise sherman greatness
actually i dont see cb's near to sherman talent,he would be the best in every scheme, like jj watt, like kueckly....

Do you have a link to that? First I've heard of it.

Ron Wolfley is putting Jonathan Cooper on blast right now. "He's gotta get better, he's gotta help Massie out on combo blocks; he's got to have more of an attitude."

"A lot of it is Jonathan Cooper is not coming off the ball with a dark heart. He relies too much on his technique..." etc nonsense Wolfleyisms.

I thought Cooper was looking good in camp?

Don't like hearing this. Earl Watford must be chomping at the bit to show where he is at in the game coming up.

He's Keims' pick. They're going to give him every opportunity going that high in the draft. He was supposed to be DeCastroesque. Speaking of which, hasn't he come back nicely from his serious injury??

Doesn't this mean that someone in the front office is telling Wolfley that Cooper is soft and needs to get "meaner"?

Wolfley, reportedly, is at practice, everyday, and he sees Cooper's play. And one thing that Wolfley knows is toughness.

It's looking like the Cards spent a top 10 pick on the next Elton Brown. I remember at one tine he had a 1st/2nd round grade but dropped due to a lack of fire and questions on whether he wanted to be a football player, or not.
