As the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes heats up, sources say at least 2 teams are prepared to offer the free agent QB a 3-year, fully guaranteed contract if that’s what it takes. At least one other team will do a similar deal nearly fully guaranteed. Would make him the highest paid QB.

The #Vikings have been considered to be in the driver’s seat for Kirk Cousins and that hasn’t changed (yet). The expectation is he takes at least 1 — maybe 2 — visits before signing. Cousins doesn’t want to be Brock Osweiler & end up in a bad fit.

Kirk Cousins may be close to a deal over the next few days. But he won’t finalize anything until he meets with coaches & others. That means Wednesday or more likely Thursday for a final decision.

Cousins can sign a three-year deal now and be free again for yet another multi-year contract when that expires.

I'll support the decision to withdraw from the bidding if the reports on how much Cousins wants in guaranteed money are true. I want a young vet over trading away several future drafts---but even a young vet has a upper limit cost.

Cards will be in good shape with the salary cap next year and will be able to keep core guys going forward. If we go into huge debt for Cousins, there will not be cap space to field the rest of the team.

Also notable about Kirk Cousins’ potential fully-guaranteed deal: this #NFLPA administration has been very combative toward agents. But a fully-guaranteed QB deal on this level would be the union’s biggest contract win (by far) since free agency began. Thanks to...an #NFL agent.

If y’all saying Cousins can get them no farther then Keemun did last year, then that’s malarkey. Cousins will have a complete team around him with solid coaching and that will elevate his game. He made them Superbowl contenders overnight. Barring injury, the Vikes can beat the Eagles. Mark it down.
