Well, well, well.

It is 340 days after my decree of revenge against the Seahawks and their coach who I like to call the Walrus.

It was December 9th, 2007

At the end of the day the score was Arizona 21 at Seattle 42.

It was disgusting. Anquan Boldin was banged up and playing at 75% (EDIT:Boldin did not play in this game, because of a bad toe suffered in the Cleveland game before), Fitzgerald was playing on 1 friggin' leg because of his hamstring pull. Adrian Wilson was out, Fransisco was hurt, Bertrand Berry was out, and Berry's replacement Darryl Blackstock got into a fight with Dockett after the game.

What I remember was a severely beaten up Arizona team going up to Seattle, and playing some gritty football. I still remember how proud I was of Larry Fitzgerald that day. He was beating guys on one leg, heck it hurt to watch him run.

After the game the media praised the Seahawks, because until then they had been playing poorly. There was talk about the Seahawks, just having "a bad couple of games". After the game, even though they had not clinched the division the Seahawks walked around in NFC West Champion T-shirts. Plus to add insult to injury the Cardinals (without mention of the laundry list of injuries, like they did with the Rams that year at every possible moment) were being sold as a fluke because of the score. It didn't matter we beat the Seahawks earlier that year either, cause that was called a fluke as well.

Thus I got mad. I got really mad. I wasn't mad that we lost. I was mad that the Seahawks were being touted as an awakened giant. A team that was being propped up as a contender. I knew, and anyone else in the NFC West knew this was B.S. The Hawks are who we thought they were, and they are proving that this year.

During the game, I kept on saying, I wish we were just a little bit healthier. I wish at least Wilson was out there, or a healthy Fransisco even.

Finally the post below was made. I declared our team would have our revenge against the Walrus and his team. I knew that a year from that day things would be different. I knew that if we showed up to play Seattle a little more healthy then we did on Dec. 9th, 2007 we would at least made a game of it.

It may be 27 days early but it starts right here and right now. I can't think of a better time to bring this up again. The Cardinals have seven games left, and need a good strong push to clinch the division, to clinch a playoff birth, and to clinch a little respect around the league.

So, Sunday is a big game for me. I don't care if the Seahawks are "banged up", if the Seahawks are "not the same team". There was no mercy towards us last year and I think it is time that the Cardinals return that favor. I want the Cardinals to " crush the Seahawks, see them driven before Coach Whiz, and to hear the lamentation of there 12th man".

Go Cardinals!

My sentiments exactly. I don't think people here quite understand what it would mean for us to beat the Hags in Seattle, something we haven't accomplished in six years. Even though they are 2-7, this to me is the true match for the championship belt of the NFC West. Champion vs. Challenger. If we knock them off in their loud stadium, that is a huge victory. And now that we have a healthy team going in there this team, hell, maybe we have a shot this year.

Rugby, I had seen that sig in all your posts for about a year. I never knew what it meant because the picture only shows a red x for me, similiar to some avatars etc. Now I know and I too would love nothing more than to beat the hawks.

(if someone could explain to me why some pics and avatars only show the red x, I would appreciate it)

EDIT:
Q didn’t play that day because of his bad toe suffered the week before against Cleveland.

I totally forgot that he didn't play in that game!!!!

Yup! And don't forget Leroy Hill dissing the Cardinals to Sterling Sharpe of the CBS pre-game show. We owe these guys a serious beat-down. 63-0 would do it. :)

We need to win this game as we have the Giants and Eagles up next. If we lose we could be 6 & 6 after the Eagle game.

Last season, the HAGS - 'D' gave up over 100 fewer points than the Cards.

I was hoping, going into the season, that we could cut that difference in half.

Well, not only has it been wiped, the Cards have given up fewer points than Seattle.

This stat, strikes me, as the real measure as to why we are leading, and they are floundering.

I am looking forward to this game. How much fun would it be to leave that game 7-3 with the Squawks at 2-8.

Alot of fun considering that if we dont win there is a strong possability we lose the next two and will be sitting at 6-6 probably with a 2 game lead in the division or maybe even one.

7-5 looks way better than 6-6. Im not predicting we will lose both of those games but we easily could.

The Cards will likely bring their A game for the Giants at home. But the east coast roadie in Philly only 4 days later has trouble written all over it.

i'd actually flip the difference to the other side of the ball - defensively I think these teams are kind of a wash, some talent, some gaps, some big plays, some big misses

however this year seattle has gone 3 and out on something like 1/3 of their possessions - they are getting killed in time of possession, 3rd down % is horrific and they're not scoring points

all those things make you defense worse - they're more tired, trying to play too perfect, tentative, etc

the cards are scoring points in buckets - that allows the defense to play loose and aggressive making them better and they don't care if they give up a big play, because warner/boldin/fitz have the ability to get it back for them

This game is going to be nice. We need to stomp them for last years game. We should, lets not repeat last weeks poor defense.

However, IMO, its all about the Giants game in two weeks. That is a must win. If we want to be considered contenders, or legit, we need to ebat the Giants at our home. If we dont, I see us making the playoffs, great, but not winning the superbowl. We gotta beat the Giants AND the Eagles. We need to win on the road.

I am passed caring about our division. Lets go play with the big boys and get prepared for the playoffs.

I thought overall the D played pretty well on Monday. They only gave up 17 points which is good enough for this offense to overcome against anybody. The two TD passes were nice plays by SF rather than defensive breakdowns.

My prediction is we kick the Giants butts in the firsthalf (Eli throws a couple pics) then we hold onto dear life for the close win 28 - 27.

And then we go into Phillyon short rest, cross country, full of ourselves, and with the greates "screen" team of all time and get blown out of the water.

As for this Sundays game. If the weather is good, I expect us to win. Is Tatupu out too?

Anyone seen SeaChicken for awhile?

Here birdy birdy birdy......:D

Forget all this "stomp" and "revenge" crap. Just win the dam game.

Don't get me wrong. That is all I want to happen.

Can't forget about the revenge tho....I spend all year keeping track, and I ran out of fingers and toes MONTHS ago !

looking at the Seahawks -- given the WR and QB issues, the poor offensive stats dont surprise you

what does jump out is the weak defensive stats. You look at the depth chart and you see all the familiar names: Tatupu -check, Peterson -check, Trufant -check- yet the defense is a shell of what you have come to expect in the past. They really struggle defending the pass.

Certainly part of the defensive struggles can be attributed to an offense that doesnt move the ball and puts the D on the field too much -- but it also seems to go beyond that.

I think the game comes down to his: how effective will the Cards be in the redzone in general, and first and goal in particular.*

Against the 49ers, of six possessions with a first down inside the 10 yard line -- only three TDs. Make it four and that game had no drama. Make it five and its a laugher.

*When you think about it -- in two of the Cards three losses, first and goal woes haunted them. Against the Jets, they had two first and goals to start the game and ended up with no points. How different would that game have been if they got up 14-0? Against Carolina -- opening drive had first and goal inside the five and ended up with a FG. Those four points would have come in handy at the end.
