Yep. I've been to where people suddenly lost electricity (Katrina), and I've seen how they act. And this is when they knew it was coming back on.
A permanent loss of the grid would kill 10's of millions.
Solid episode tonight. The main character needs to even out somewhat, however. Still the weak part of the show.

Liked the backstory portion - especially the dangers of post-electricity America - drinking water would be a major, major cause of death.

I like were the show is going. I wonder though, it the no power will be short lived and the show will then focus mainly on the Revolution side of things.

Last bit was interesting...
This and in a previous episode where the guys daughter died because she simply stepped on a rusty nail. Things that we take for granted.
Getting stronger. We'll see how they finish out the season.

Agreed. I think the show is getting stronger. What she did to her fellow scientists was very lost-ish.

Least favorite episode so far. A little over the top. The whole running out of air thing was just too silly.
Pretty good Finale. My daughter and I can't wait for season 2!
it is back in February, so we won't have to wait too long. It better get picked up for next season for next fall.
Anyone else wonder how those helicopters were able to get lift off so fast after sitting for fifteen years?

I was wondering that too. Still need fuel, etc.
They've been bringing in / preparing tanks and choppers in anticipation of getting the power turned back on. So it's not that far of a stretch that they would have them ready to go once it did turn on.
But after time part would go bad, hoses would crack. You need diagnostic tools to check the health and without power that would be hard. Now, if they were staring of 67' Nova, sure. Spray some starter fluid into the carburetor and change out a couple of hoses and you are good to go.
JJ Abrams never explained the island. You really expect him to explain this?

Well those looked like the old "Heuy's" frist developed in the 1960s. They didn't have computer diagnostics back then. Those Huey's were closer to a 1967 Nova than a 2012 Prius.

No they don't. I see you guys are still trying to explain why internal combustion engines can't work when the power is turned off, nor can batteries, yet gunpowder can. This 'magic' selectively cancels out simple chemical processes but not others. FAIL!
Combustion engines require an electrical spark plug. There is nothing electrical when you fire a bullet. So I'm not sure what you are getting at. The whole concept of the show is that anything that requires any kind of electricty won't work. Hence why they were using steam engines to move equipment as opposed to a combustion engine.
By the way the show is fiction as in it isn't real. Once you accept that the show becomes much more enjoyable.

We would all die because we require a electric charge to pump our blood and move our muscles... I still like the show though. I'm good at looking past those types of things to some degree. I have to, I watch SyFy movies all the time!!!
