Ugh. What an idiot.

Literally pissed away millions of dollars and what could have been a really great career.

He really let Coach Ditka down.

Maybe Cheech & Chong will buy an AFL team and he can play for them.

What a waste.

I still want him on this team. SAD is no joke.

EDIT: It's really disappointing he tested positive again, but I still think he's got it. :(

Come on, Ricky!

He needs to go to the NBA where Pot is allowed.

Yep, Pot IS ALLOWED in the NBA. Why? They don't test for it.

Cue all the who cares if someone admits at the combine they smoke pot it's a trivial thing posts.

This is why you care, because there are guys like Ricky Williams who literally can't NOT smoke pot and will watch their careers go up in smoke because of it.

I don't think he's smoked since he left Miami...he just smoked so much there it's still in his system.

I would just like to say I hate Ricky Williams.

At first he said he didn't care about football and wanted to do what he wanted with his life.

That was OK. That was fine. Do what you want. You wanna smoke pot (which I have no problem with) then that is fine, but we all know you can't play NFL football if you smoke pot all day long. It is part of the rules.

Then he goes back on what he says and said he wants to play football. NOW I got a problem. Because he comes back and tests positive AGAIN. That is bullpoop!

I am for the leagalization of marijuana. I like to smoke it as well. BUT GUESS WHAT! I CAN'T. Why? Cause I have a job and if I want to work there I have to stay clean.

If I REALLY wanted to smoke then I would take a week vacation and smoke the first weekend. I would be responsible, I would not put myself in a bad situation, and I would make sure I was clean by Monday.

Mr. Williams had months to know he would be tested. He knew he would have to stay clean in order to play in the NFL. But he didn't.

Thus he is not only hurting himself, he hurts the Dolphins, the NFL, AND anyone who believes in legalizing pot. Williams is a example of a irresponsible pot smoker that leaches off society. Who is lazy ass cannot accept the responsibilities he should and says he will take on.

He is feeding the stereotype that anti-marijuana people use to plead their case.

WHAT A JERK. I hope they suspend him for life and take away all his money.

What a loser.

I love all the "Holier than thou" post here.
Not one of you who are condemning him can say what you would do in his situation cuz you are not in it. I don't care what you do right now, you are not in this kind of situation.
I love how ANYONE can go to the Dr. and get a legal drug like Xanax by saying "I'm stressed" yet pot is illegal. The law is antiquated and stupid.
Before you jump on me, I do NOT smoke pot nor do I want to.
Back to the topic, before you throw stones, think about what you have done to screw something up. Cast the 1st stone if you haven't done anything wrong....
I think Ricky has screwed up only because he is in a profession that doesn't allow what he likes to do or even needs to do for anxieties or whatever. It doesn't make him a loser, it makes him human. I don't condone it, he is just in a profession that doesn't ALLOW it...so he should move on and do something else.

I have no compassion for this jackbutt. Most of us would give up our left arm to play like he does and he takes advantage of it. I'm with Rugby on this one(except fot the smoking part). Never tried pot never will. Anyone who says it isn't addictive needs to look at this moron. Goddell should send a message to players like this and give him a lifetime ban.

I'm amazed at how many people are pissed at Williams ("hate," "jackass," etc...).

Maybe you guys don't think he should have smoked weed and pissed his promising career down the toilet, but it doesn't affect you or your loved ones.

How do you know?? Maybe these guys had taken some odds on the Saints or the Fins... Maybe they had plunked down some $ on a parlay or two, only to see it go up in smoke as Ricky puffs away...

:) Yeah, maybe...but you'd think they'd have listed that among the "I would kill for his job" rants.

I'm not saying we should feel compassion or feel sorry for him. No way. What he did, he did to himself. But that's just it--he did it to himself and not another.

He's not a scumbag, he's not a nasty person, he's not even a jerk--he doesn't appear to have any ill-will towards his fellow man. He smoked pot. He essentially chose pot over football.

An odd choice? Certainly. But not a choice that deserves the average person's hate.

And, for the poster who said he's a leach on society...huh? He's not on any government subsidy. He's probably going to be a damned good yoga instructor and make $50K a year like a regular joe. You know what? He'll probably be a lot happier for it.

And a poor choice it was IMO ...

Its hard for me to criticize these players because of what I did growing up .. but I think the big difference was that I never had the opportunities that these guys have nor was I ever thrust into the spotlight being a star ball player .. I would like to think that I would have acted in a good manner .. but money and success can sometimes ruin people ...

Now that I am older it would be so simple for me to make the right decision .. but when I was young and running full bore and feeling invincible without much experience, my decision making skills were lacking at times ...
