Just wanted to speak my piece on a man that epitomizes Phillie baseball to me. I've never known another announcer outside of his partner Richie "Whitey"Ashburn who passed away some time ago, that made me love the game and the Phils as much as him. The childhood memories of summertime games heard on the radio at the shore, or at my Grandfather's house or even on my front porch, with Harry calling games, are as much a part of me as anything else from my youth. His voice, whether we stunk or were good, made baseball fun, and his easy going style made you feel as if you were privy to he and Whitey just chattin it up while sipping brews at the park. I'm tearing up just thinking about how much I'll miss him. Knowing how much I feel for a man I never had the chance to meet, tells you guys just how much he means to Philadelphia and to all Phillies fans. I know most of you guys may be only partially familiar with his work (His NFL Films work is also a treasure) but I just wanted to tip my cap, and talk up one of the greatest to ever do it. Never again can I hear the words "Outta Here" without thinking of him. We love you Harry. And you will be missed dearly.

It is truly wonderful that he has made such a positive impression on your life. Good for you to remember him at his passing like this, and to share with the rest of us how this man brought so much into your life. We too often fail to acknowlege the ones who truly affect our lives. Thank you for sharing this with us.

For any true, hardcore baseball fan, Harry's passing is a monumental event...
Growing up in the NYC area, I was of course a Philly sports hater... However, I LOVED listening to Harry Kalas call a game... I wish I had more chances to have experienced that...

Thanks for all you brought to the game Harry! Man are you gonna be missed...

Harry Kalas was one of my favorites. Dave Niehaus, who is probably my favorite of all time spoke about Kalas the other day.

Harry Kalas! Thanks for the memories and RIP. A Philadelphia sports icon FOR CERTAIN!!!

I am currently looking at my Harry and Whitey bobblehead figurine in my apartment. Sad that they are both gone. Like Philly said, they were both so intregal in growing up and listening to those games.

I will never forget hearing him call a homerun ... "That ball is outta here!" That was the first voice I heard at a baseball game and it is the one I hear echo everytime I am at a game and a homerun is hit.

God bless you, Harry Kalas. Glad the Phils could give you one more championship before it was time to go. Thanks for the fabulous memories!!!
