God, what an awful draft pick. He has 0 potential, and doesn't even look like a basketball player. Anyone else agree?

All he has shown is that he can get fouls in bunches within seconds when he tries to play defense. And, BTW, he was known for no offensive skills. He was drafted for defense, rebounding, shot blocking, hustling... so far pretty disappointing.

At least hes easy to spot in crowds, so you can throw **** at him with impeccable accuracy.

Reach of a draft pick to say the least.

He was a 7 footer in the Pac 10 and he dominated no one. That should have been a big red flag.

Exactly...anyone who watched Pac 10 basketball knows he was a huge beneficiary of his brother who rightfully drew all the attention. After watching Speights against ASU in the NIT, I definitely thought he would be a better choice.

He didn't look completely awful in the beginning of the season; he was able to block a few shots. I'm willing to give him a couple of summers to develop. He's young and has a legit center's body and could develop into a serviceable player. Under $2 million a year on a project center isn't that bad considering the premium that big men are paid in the NBA.

Lopez is the anti-Sampson. Once his hair is cut he will gain talent.

The ONLY time he has impressed me is when he shut down Dwight Howard earlier this year. He frustrated him very well.

I really hope that Robin can someday be as good as Shawn Bradley.

In a van...down by the river.

Exactly, and in the NBA he's only 6' 1".....watch his knees bend tonight whenever he:
a) Gets the ball
b) Gets positioning for a rebound
b) Enters the paint
It's hysterical.
I've officially renamed him the Midget Clown.

been ranting against him since WELL before we drafted him. wanted speights, arthur, or any other young big with POTENTIAL. would have even been okay with taking a flyer on chalmers over robin.

Yeah but don't fall for the trap where if they do well against the suns "they are awesome" Marresee is like 8pt and 3 boards, except vs the Suns he and many other hacks looks great. Hell Marcus Banks had many great games agains the Suns.

If the plan was to develop a big man over the course of 2-3 years then DeAndre Jordan should have been the pick, his ceiling is higher than any other big man in that draft.

How sad is the state of Suns scouting when they brag about having Robin higher on their draft board than his brother. The need to overhaul the scouting department is greater than the need was to fire Porter.

You can't criticize them for this. What did you want them to say? "Well Brooke is way better, but we had to settle for Robin." You know which guy they would've picked given the choice.
