Is AJ done with his vacation yet?

I'm sorry, I'm lashing out because I hate losing. But seriously he's been out FOREVER, this is absurd.

The real question is where were you tonight? Not one to start rumors but I heard you were sighted within 500 yards of the stadium.....

LOL! Your honor, I have witnesses that can attest that I was neither in the vicinity of chase field, nor was I positive about our chances of winning at any point.

Seems like all the preseason gnashing of teeth about our pitching is finally coming home to roost.

It sucks we're in a slump right now. Still I'm not ready to jump off yet. I never thought we could win a 100 games. Still after this game I think we can win 90 plus and maybe 100. All that to say I still like our pitching.

Grace made a good point.

Thru the whole season we are hitting a CONSISTENT .281 or something like that, with runners in scoring position.

During this 3 game losing streak we are like .082

That's not some unspoken monster rearing it's head guys; it's just a slump and we'll get out of it! The starting pitching has been as solid as ever! The bullpen has faltered; along with the hitting they've also seen an astronomical decline.. Neither will hold. We're ok. If AJ ever comes back from his annual vacation we should be in pretty good shape.

Now stop making me talk you down or the Gods will notice and they will punish the team for my optimism!

PS AJ is a pansy who will probably never get of IR. There!!! My job is done here.

Not really.

That's silly! The starters have basically been nails. I mean I dont know when dbacks fans became so spoiled that a 6ip 2er outing by a starter is unacceptable. That's a "quality start" by any metric especially when guys are striking out 8-10.

This is nothing more than a little slump by the bullpen and the hitters, who have both been outrageously good in Chase field up to this point.

There will be a happy medium at some point, and we'll see where that leaves us, but to say; 'Oh this is the biblical moster coming home to roost that we've all been waiting for" is just reactionary and silly. I'll admit we cant be as good as we've been all season, but just because we have a 3 game losing streak doesn't make us a bad team.

I truly believe we will break out of this. It's a 3 game losing streak you guys, good lord...

I just have a sick feeling they won't get out of this slump until after they have sometime off due to the All-Star break.

Love ya Bert, but Ray's start last night can't be considered a quality start... 122 pitches in 6 innings? 5 walks? 4 earned runs? He only gave up 5 hits which is miraculous given how poorly he pitched...

Things to know about this game

• Rockies outfielder/first baseman Ian Desmond could call his last game against Greinke memorable. Desmond entered 1-for-19 against Greinke but squeezed out two hits. Granted, they were infield dribblers, but they counted.

• Chatwood has generally been good on the road (4-4, 2.91 ERA), and Chase Field has been good to him. He is 2-0 with a 2.42 ERA in his career there.

• Greinke is 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA over 30 innings in his last five starts, and 7-2 with a 3.02 ERA in 65 2/3 innings in his last 10 starts.
