Just watched the Arena scene again. Wow.

Great stuff. The previews for the finale are blowing me away.

This show needs to get a hell of a lot more run than it is getting on this forum. Best thing since Sopranos on TV.

Long live Ceasar...errr...Rome...err...Octavian...err...Augustus...errr...PULLO AND VORENUS!!!!

Is this sunday the finale? Oh man that sucks so bad!

Yeah the arena was awesome. Brought a tear to my eye!

Yep, Sunday is it for this season. And Vorenus looks red-eyed angry...I wonder if he found out about Niobe's little secret?

I'll miss this show in the offseason.

OMG. That sucks...I hate the way they ended that. I hate waiting another year for more of this show.

Yeah, those last 2 episodes made up for all the soap opera crap that was happening all year.

Talk about ending on a downer though. Sheesh.

You're going to have wait longer than a year. I heard Rome's second season won't air until 2007.

OMG they killed the hottest babe in the show!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

She was one of my favorite characters! And Verinus and her were really falling in love. What a shame!!!!

I have to read up on the history, Im not sure what happens next but I always thought Marcus Anthony became ceasar next right?

I love the look the boy gave that old women (Im not going to attempt spelling names here lol) A look like "I will make you pay".

Wow just read about the next ceasar and war with Marc anthony. Wow that is going to be fun!

Now that you know does it give more weight to those scenes with the future Augustus? Especially those last scenes with the murderdeathkill looks toward Servilla...you know what's coming, and you know how intelligent and calculating he is. Servilla just signed her own death warrant...what a ho-bag.

And did you read up on why he comes to power, and the issue with Ceasar's egyptian kid? I was kind of sorry they didn't bring Cleopatra into Rome, because I believe that happened in real life.

Marc Anthony, the senators pursuit, Cleopatra, Octavia, Octavian, Vorenus and Pullo et al should make next season pretty great.

I hope they up the budget now that the setpieces are all built and show some more war brutality like the arena scene.

Julius Ceasar's death was simply amazingly shot. Very human; very sad. I'm glad he didn't say et tu, Brutus...his face and eyes said it with more volume than his voice ever could. Pain and hurt on him that the knives didn't inflict. When he tried to cover his face with his toga, that was just sad. Outstanding scene. Cirian Hinds should get an Emmy for this show...and I'll miss him next season. Sucks that you know he's going to bite it but you still get attached to his character.

Does it really not air till 2007? I love Rome but it doesnt have the fan base the Sopranos do. In fact the Sopranos may be the only show ever able to take 1.5 2 years off.

No one in the project knew whether or not the series would be picked up in time to shoot the new season in order to get it out next year. Shooting will take place soon for Season 2 (in 2006), and the new episodes will get released in early 2007.

Money was the reason they only made 12 episodes instead of 20 or 22. If the series tanked, HBO would have been out even more dough. The 12 episodes they made cost around $115 million.

Sucks we have to wait, but I will definitely watch when it comes back.

That's strange, every HBO show always has around 12 episodes a year. At least, every show I've ever watched has always been 12-13 episodes (starting with Season 1 of the Sopranos). How many eps a year was Sex in the City?

That was something I read, I could be wrong about that. The season seemed short to me, but I haven't followed a HBO series before.

Another great episode. We also were able to watch Rome, and catch the last 5 minutes of the Colts Pats game.
