They release CB Jefferson and RB Johnson.

Per a Cards alert text that I just received.

Who is Johnson?

Ian Johnson from Boisie State. Practice squad. They'll move Jefferson there, if they can.

Onrea should have indicated to the FO that he is a package deal with another QB. He has that kind of tug and pull right?? :D

I am happy for Onrea Jones...he deserves it.

But...releasing AJ is plain stupid. He's the one who should be on the punt return team and all STs instead of DRC.

Man...the personnel decisions on this team are really mind-boggling.

It's pretty obvious that we continue to have the wrong players starting at QB, NT and on STs.

We should bring back 6'8" Leonard Pope and sign all of the tallest WRs we can find. Since Scud also likes to throw behind everyone we should have our receivers run backwards so the ball hits them in the numbers.

Pope is the starting TE in KC.

I think Jones is going to get a crack at PR.

That would be strange. Never once seen him practice it in camp the last 3 years.

Could he really do much worse than Komar and Roberts? :D

IDK, seeing him signed and Jefferson sent down, leads me to think it's special teams related, not offense. But, maybe they think he can help more than Komar or Williams as a WR.

I agree with the idea this is a special team answer first and a fourth wide reciever second.Onrea had a pretty good pre-season and I know we'd like to resign our guys to PS if they pass waivers.

We use more safties with ware & Johnson now getting more time with Rhodes & AW coming from both sides now.Teams can't just KEY on the side AW is on anymore as Kerry is bringing it too as he did against the raiduhs.Thats one good move by Davis I can give him credit for as the Eagles have always come from both safeties.

I can only hope we fix the punt return mishaps.I pray Onrea is the answer and ready to take a hit and hold on.Hate we might lose C.J. for depth purposes only.DCR is very fragile.Glad Tru McBride is our #3 CB.

Per Urban's blog he was brought in specifically because Breaston was limping today at practice.

This was my thought as well. Irony this year will be Quan playing all season healthy and we have the revolving doors at WR.

I think Jones is going to get a crack at PR.

When I was at camp DD was catching punts with the PR and quite honestly was did not drop a run as to Roberts and Komar were dropping 20%. It was the first Monday practice. I say were put 90 as a PR.

Same here. I am happy for Jones-----hope he gets a chance to stick this time. He has earned this shot. I hope we can slip CJ through waivers and get him on the PS. A little help from the good hands people should go a long way toward solving our Punt Return problems. (Now,-----if we could just get Watson activated on Sudnays).
