I would play for this Cardinals team instead of the Raiduhs for less, unless they just dwarfed the Cards offer! Wouldn't you? That team is going nowhere anytime soon.

Who really knows? The clowns in Baltimore don't. They don't know who got offered what or who is going where for sure already, this rumor/deflection has worked beautifully for whomever master minded it. It just didn't make sense to me. Still doesn't. I don't think JV will take less to come here, I think he's simply getting the biggest offer elsewhere and taking that number back to Oakland, and they will beat it.
And of course I would rather play for the Cardinals, I see what you tried there, you aint sneaky bucky! :p

There are 4 big time LTs in free agency, and I think 5 teams willing to pay their types of contracts. DD wants Albert. Palmer and the Raiders want JV. Ravens want Monroe desperately, they are like a smarter version of the Raiders in this scenario. Miami will probably throw some big money, they have to because of what happened in Miami last year on the O-line. That's the only team I could see someone avoiding if they can at least get similar pay somewhere else. KC?

I think Monroe stays in Baltimore. I'm saying Jared is still ghost riding the whip in Oakland. I'm hoping our only 2 big free agency signings are Albert and Monroe. Lambskin goes to the Dolphins because of his versatility. But that's all just a guess, I don't call it information.

This smokescreen is only good if what is released to the press is the only thing the teams and players know and that is far from true. I'm sure Baltimore isn't just relying on Monroe's agents for their news.

I cant stand this 'legal tampering period' prior to the markets opening because its always this stuff. "So and So is expected to sign.."

Albert will be a Dolphin

Monroe will be a Raven

Veldheer will be a Cardinal

and watch what happens..

Albert signs with the Bengals

Monroe with the Bills

Veldheer stays with the Raiders

Cardinals get some backup weve never heard of

I trust in Keim.

Although, I was/am a little discouraged to hear the Cards had interest in Roger Saffold (Rams LT/G)(and also another example of one of those "this-is-going-to-happen!" reports)

The reason hes a "LT/G" is because he was a bust at LT and became a G. Why on earth he thinks, and why any team would think, hes a LT option in beyond me.

Im just waiting for that text at 4:08 Tuesday afternoon "The Arizona Cardinals have signed Roger Saffold to a 3 y..."

Or Charles Brown from New Orleans and that he's going to wear #75.

I talked to Michael in Nawlins last year & told him to burn that number...he laughed, but he also had a gleem in his eye. :D He was also traded shortly thereafter! Hmmmm

Why would the chiefs draft Eric Fisher is Brandon Albert is so good? I don't know if Albert had ever played a full season he's pretty much a one year wonder at this point.

The raiders are going to have to overpay everyone they sign. There in a bad situation and that money goes alot longer in Arizona than it does in norther California.

I think we dodged a huge bullet with not signing Albert
1. BPA
2. Cheaper to keep a young LT
3. Now they have the choice between the two, and they don't look like they are making a run this year so it was a great call. Chiefs are in a tough spot because they can't offer Fisher as a trade now, with Albert on the free agency list.

I hear ya, Saffold is just as bad as the man we shipped to the Stealers last year for nada.

People have short memories. Saffold failed as a LT, though he showed he could be a good guard.

He's better than Levi Clown & Sowell...but is he a $7/mil a year player? Guess were about to find out.

I think it's a steal. He's young and just entering the upper echelon of LTs, but was injured much of last year (first time in his career). Veldheer is the best long-term solution.

He's an excellent tackle but his price and availability sound too good to be true. Something is up here... If we can go into the draft with Veldheer/Dansby locked up wow.

Out of the four LT's on the open market, Veldheer would have been my bottom choice. I guess I should have figured that meant the Cards will sign him :).

It will be interesting to see what Monroe signs for because I would have given him up to 2-3 mill more/year than I would Veldheer.

I don't hate it if they sign him(they need someone out there) but my list went Monroe, Collins, Albert, Veldheer. I think Collins signs for less than Veldheer too.

Pro Football Focus says Jared Veldheer struggled after returning from the triceps injury at the end of the 2013 season, but played at a high level in 2012 ranking as their 12th best pass-protection tackle that season.

Veldheer had his struggles in limited play in 2013, but let’s not forget that he suffered a triceps injury in training camp and, realistically, was doing well just to get back onto the field at all. When you focus on 2011 and 2012, his two full seasons as a starter, you see a player who has performed at a very high level, and is still young enough that he has potential to get even better.

when he comes in they need to have Coop there to stand on his right all damned day...no matter what happens, anything that comes from the right side Cooper needs to handle it...coffee on the right? Coop grabs the pot and pours...door on the right, coop opens it..... let the guy know he will finally have a guard on his right side he can fully trust

would kinda feel bad for Coop though if the big guy has to pee.............

My issue would be if you sign him you better be very sure you have a clause in the contract that if he tests positive for PED's you get some financial savings out of it. I have no idea if he ever has in the past but if you were to draw up a list of most likely suspects he'd be very high on the list.

Adam Schefter on Sportscenter just said the Cardinals are the most likely landing spot for Veldheer from what he has heard. It looks like this is gaining momentum.

Not as good in pass protection as Branden Albert TODAY, but probably better in 2-3 years and a better run blocker today than B.A. He came back from his triceps injury waaaaaaay quicker than Levi Brown.

From everything I'm reading on the internet, he seems to be a high character guy, e.g. speaks on bullying at Oakland area schools, etcetera.

•The Dolphins look ready to “blow the opposition out of the water” for offensive tackle Branden Albert, perhaps with a long-term offer worth $10-11MM year. In that event, the Cardinals would strongly pursue Jared Veldheer, and the Raiders would likely shift their attention to Rodger Saffold, according to King, who adds that the tackles will likely be the first free agent dominoes to fall.

Peter King now.

If this happens, hopefully this new trainer can talk him into calming down on the weight training jus a bit. You don't have to look like Mr Universe to play football. It's funny how the guys that tear biceps/triceps are always the guys that look like they're on PED's. I love Adub and he swore he was clean, but when he tore that bicep, he was looking pretty ridiculous.

It almost makes you think that's a side effect of HGH. You didn't really hear much about torn biceps and triceps until HGH got popular over the past few years. Unless I just wasn't paying attention. I guess when you're doing HGH, you recover faster, so you're lifting more frequently. Some guys take it to the extreme. Maybe it's as simple as that.
