Good for him.

Even KIPER and McShay on the podcast said he's screwed if he goes to Cleveland there just a bad organization.

This was known five months ago... guess they had to make an offer so the rejection could be official.

Darnold dont wanna go to cleveland either... be curious to see if it happens twice.

Two trains of thought on this... cleveland is not planning to trade the #1 overall pick again.

If Rosen is the only QB they felt was worthy, now they may trade back to pick a different QB in a more appropriate draft slot.

I am very much hoping Rosen is not on the board when we pick.

hmmm...it crosses my mind that a snub like this may motivate the browns to trade for Smith, or go ahead and give cousins his $30mil per... because how screwed and humiliated would they be if every QB in the draft told them No Thanks.... obviously not :every"... but if all the top guys,.. Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield, Jackson, Allen, and Rudolph...
that is the type of thing that makes national headlines and humiliates the league, not just the team.

If so, it seems strikingly early to do it. Why put a pock mark on your character before you're even through the Combine and interview process? This could hurt your overall character evaluation one way or the other.

The Browns aren't going to pick Rosen anyway. I think they are going to draft RB Saquon Barkely at #1 and QB Josh Allen at #4.

Wouldn't you just love to see him slide down the draft after making that remark. That alone would be worth watching.

If they're referencing Rosen's comments from earlier, in no way did he say he didn't want to play for Cleveland. I posted a quote of what he had said earlier. Here it is:

Rosen is reported as saying:
"I think the teams know more than I do in the sense of where I'd best fit. I might be a bit of a unique personality, so hopefully they can pick me apart and if a team really feels that I'm their guy, hopefully they'll go and get me....I'd rather be a lower pick at the right team than a higher one at the wrong team.”

He did not mention the Browns.

Wow what a scathing indictment of the Browns that was.... lol Jeez talk about fake news and adding craploads of subtext by the press.... People are so quick to judge. Jeez how dare this kid weigh in on a decision that will certainly affect the rest of his life!

You guys have never put your resume out to two jobs and thought; "I'll be happy to work but I really hope Job A hires me instead of Job B because I really want to work for Job A."

It's like because they make a lot of money they aren't allowed to have opinions, even when it directly relates to their future.

I wouldn't want to work for the Browns either. They just lost every game in their season and it barely made any news because it's the Browns and everyone knows they are a dumpster fire.

There was a great conversation in another thread about separating kids with immaturity issues from character issues. I think the same can be said about personality as it relates to leadership. Great leaders don't always have to be warm and cuddly. Many refer to Michael Jordan as the greatest winner/leader of all time. He punched Kerr in practice, he flew to Vegas and gambled on nights before games, cheated on his wife Tiger Woods style, shot free throws with his eyes closed showing up opponents, etc.

I have no idea if Rosen is a great leader or not, but if the media is portraying him as Jay Cutler based only on him having a hot tub in his dorm room, then that is bad journalism. If multiple coaches and players say he is a bad teammate, then that would be cause for concern. I'm just not going to be so quick to label him based on a couple "journalist" trying to get clicks.

Let's not snicker too loud at the reports/rumors about players/top QBs not wanting to go to the Browns.

Wonder how many top prospects at the Combine have hopes that the Cards won't come knocking draft day?

If you are a top WR, would you want to go to an organization that doesn't have a single QB on the roster going into the Combine? 'None' will be throwing you the ball.

If you are a top QB, would you want to go to an organization with one solid WR and a whole lot of question marks along the OL and rest of the receivers (WR & TE)?

Would you want to go to a team that has a brand new coaching staff (the HC has one year as a D-coordinator) and you don't even know the scheme/playbook?

Would you want to relocate to a place where you can suffer heat exhaustion by walking to your car 6 months out of the year (not really---but desert living is not for everyone.)

Wonder how many players have 'Cards' circled on their dance card as the place they really want to go? The last guy who really wanted to play for the Cards that I can recall is Scooby Wright, the ILB who is hanging on as a special teams player.

No snickering about the Browns 'cause we may not be far behind.
