He mostly ran the ball forward in the design of the offense and didn't get injured.
Our new standard of excellence.
Well, competence anyway.

Barring any further injuries, I believe RW will be our #2 behind Mendenhall. And given the fact that Mendenhall's knee seems to be a real issue/concern, RW should see bigtime minutes throughout the season. If he does, I think there is a very real chance that he will perform his way into the #1 position.
I agree. No question on his talent. It's his durability that he will need to prove.
You seem pretty easily convinced by a mediocre performance against Denver's third string. Looked slow in the lower gear of preseason. Glad Steve Keim endorsed a second round pick who might be a #3 back in the NFL.
Arians seemed convinced. He already said to Calvisi that Williams has definitely made the team.

Well, your beliefs aren't the same as reality.
2.8 YPC. Where is the talent?
I'm not sure it's Arians' decision to make. Steve Keim is the general manager. Kent Somers believes that Arians said that "they were going to keep all five backs" and interprets that as a message to the league that Williams wasn't going to hit the waiver wire.
It's a pretty sad state of affairs that a second-round pick merely making the 53 man roster in his third season is being touted as a victory for Williams and the front office.
Bravo.
Again, anyone who is pointing at the YPC didnt watch the game. 1 yd touchdown drives lower YPC. Low carry amount weight down YPC. Getting hit 5 yards in the backfield by 3 guys lowers YPC.
RW looked good, quick, decisive and strong. the backfield tackle, 2 yard goal line run and 1 yd touchdown dramatically lowered his YPC.

"I don't think there's any doubt," Arians said to Arizona Sports 620's Paul Calvisi after Thursday's game. "We're so good at running back.
"We're going to keep the best 53 players, even if we have to overload one position. I'm not going to keep a bad player at one position and cut a good player."

The 2.8 ypc is from 2012. After 58 carries. Even with horrible run-blocking, playcalling, and whatever else. 2.8 is 2.8. Not impressive.
Yes, people were trying to discount how gross a 2.8 ypc is.Yes, he did not look good last year. Has anyone stated otherwise? I watched him run last night and he looked like a different back than the guy that suited up for us a year ago. He might take a big hit and start running scared again, he might come up lame again or he might decide the pain isn't worth the effort but the guy that ran last night looked good enough to play in this league.

his stats from limited time last year dont mean anything to me, I am judging his performance last night, not last year. he got 2.8 last night but it was skewed.

Unless I missed something, the people you're referring to thought the YPC was referring to last night's performance. We watched him run last year, he earned that 2.8 but last night was a different story. It was just part of one game against non-starters so it may mean very little in the long run but it did provide reason for a little hope IMO.

Mulli is doing his I didn't wary the game evaluation. If he saw RW run Kat night and wasn't intrigued something's wrong.
Williams showed flashes against the Broncos -- running for 25 yards and one touchdown on nine carries -- but he's no longer the back of the future in Arizona. Starter Rashard Mendenhall didn't play Thursday because of a sprained knee, but he's expected to be ready for Week 1, and behind him, Alfonso Smith, Stepfan Taylor and Andre Ellington give the Cardinals options. We wouldn't be surprised to see this five-man clown car reduced to four before the real games begin.
That is what I was thinking. Who is "we?"Who is this from?
Given the proper grammar, I doubt you're the author.
