our youngins

backs are burned up fast, in Cards case its too injury so we have to give our 2 draft picks a chance, I mean Thomas Jones and hearst were both injured and we let them go - to go probowl like OJ Anderson before them, Well's and Williams may be the next course in the tradition - THT is still trying .

Hell I don't know anymore - I still see playoff and championship teams running the ball well- We drafted 5th and 6th rounders for their blocking ability. Being the new fangled black uniformed Cardinals!

They might have a 1000 yards a piece! by freaking accident- so we can cut them next year to pass more.

There are still some decent names out there.

Ariens said today that he's never seen someone work so hard and look so good coming back from injury... only to not be able to suit up...
I would say that if Williams doesn't play against the Cowgirls, he's toast... and I would be hugely disappointed in him. :(

Doubt that the Cowboys game is make or break in Arians' mind.

Maybe... however, Ariens also stated, very directly, that "he see's his running mates performing, and performing well... He's missing valuable time that will absolutely hurt him."

I got the sense that Ariens is out of patience...

I wonder if it is all mental and BA is trying to ease his mind re the physical elements and kick him in the butt to put the fear of losing his profession if he doesn't get back in the game. Kind of like Maverick after Goose died.

We'll know when he sets the final 53, obviously - but he needs to get in a game or two to have a chance. If the problem persists, he maybe on the short IR.

it's not difficult for me to understand why anyone would cheer for Williams at this point. He's a Cardinals, thus I want to see him do well. but it would be difficult for me to understand why anyone would EXPECT anything from him at this point.

Agreed 1000 times over.

I thought that as well.. I thought a lot of Arians' comments had the under-tones of "guy has all the physical tools and work ethic you want, but guy needs to prove he's mentally tough enough to survive an NFL season or he's not making the roster"

It's a tricky situation - you obviously want him healthy and adding an explosive home run component to the run game. But you can't count on it; you can't wait forever and you'd better have your team ready to execute a fall back strategy that doesn't rely on KW.

It's a fine line to walk - especially when designing plays, game planning and figuring out which techniques to work on most from a coaching standpoint.

Your play book has to look a whole lot different with speedsters like Williams and Ellington in the back field than it does limited to Taylor and Smitty. And we really haven't experienced what Mendenhall can do for our offense.

The Injury Gods make everything very fluxy, and we need to be ready for anything possible.

People were happy to criticize Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, and Darnell Dockett when they were going through contract squabbles. People here couldn't wait to talk smack about Adrian Wilson once he was out the door, and continue to spot nonsense about his reps being dramatically reduced at the end of the season.

And those were players that had been productive on the field.

Williams was a great marketing campaign for what's turned out to be a terrible product. How anyone can consider him a "home run hitter" right now isn't looking at much in the way of evidence.

Yep

It would be an accomplishment just to have RW be the waterboy for this team without getting hurt.

I just don't get the Ryan Williams hate. The guy had a horrific knee injury and a broken shoulder. So he hasn't been able to make it back in the field. Did I miss something.? Did he rob a bank? Slap his girlfriend? Beat up a homeless guy? If he doesn't make it back he will be cut. Plain and simple. Why the constant dogging of the guy? Who wouldn't want him to come back?

He's just gotta go to my doctor, my surgeon beforehand was the a AZ professional teams surgeon. Flew to Florida in February (not to Biogenisis :p ) and had a stem cell and PRP treatment done on my knee. I was told my golf career was over and I had 3 surgeons tell me the same. 6mo later, my MRI looks perfectly clean, I have no pain, and am hoping to play in the WM in 2014. Already told GEE Imma get an ASFN skybox on 16, so be nice to me. Hahaha

Ryan, or any other Cardinals player, if you are reading this board shoot me a PM. My doc works with lots of other athletes, makes you go through the list of banned substances for your sport to make sure they aren't missing any. I've had 4 knee surgeries prior to this, and couldn't even walk up stairs (not even close to football). Lets get you healthy and back on the field Ryan....I was back up and playing just 5wks after the procedure.

Who is hating? Posters are just saying he is this seasons Todd Heap and wasn't any good when he did play last season. What's wrong with that? We wrote the same things about Kolb and were right in the money.

He had a plasma injection 10 days ago, according to Az Republic. It takes 2 weeks to have its effect.

So very true! He has less than three weeks to prove he can still play football.
