Lue would be an idea backup PG for the Suns style of play. It would be nice to get something out of the Atlanta trade for Bibby.

I like Lue. He hustles on defense and isn't a total disaster at the point.

Adding Lue would really help to rest Nash. The Suns could still pick-up a FA or a waived player to provide depth at SF/SG. It shouldn't cost too much for the rest of the season even with the LT.

What a GREAT addition Lue would be. Man, we'd be so deep all the way down the line! I love DJ's play and I think he should be in the rotation, but Lue is just more seasoned and more ready.

Nash-Lue-DJ
Bell-Barbosa
Hill-Diaw
Stoudemire
O'Neal-Skinner

Lue, DJ, Bell, Diaw and Stoudemire all can slide up in position making this a very deep team....

I personally haven't seen Lue do anything that makes him the ideal back up to Nash. He looks like Barbosa to me, before Barbosa learned to harness his speed and be controlled around the basket for lay ups. Lue has always looked like a small two, and not really a true PG like Nash to me, imho. We need a 13th, and the pickings are slim right now, so what the hell.

Lue would be nice.

But an even better addition would be Juan Dixon out of Toronto. Final year of contract also. And wants out.

I would go Dixon before Lue. If we give up the Atlanta pick for either one I'll :barf:

Lue is so perfect for the Suns style of play and he is a decent shooter. I really, really hope the Suns go after him because I can see the Suns wanting to keep him on their roster even after this season. I've always liked Lue even from the time he played on the Lakers.

Maybe the Suns could offer Tucker or Strawberry and a 2nd round pick for Lue. The Suns need him this season. Actually I would be happy getting any of the three Kings guards but IMO Lue is the better fit.

Dixon has less PG skills than Lue.

I wouldn't say Lue is perfect for the Suns. He should have more success than Banks, but I'm not even sure about that. Offering Tucker or DJ wouldn't help our roster problem at all because we'd still need a 13th player. I wouldn't want to give up either of those guys for Lue anyways. The only way we'll get him is if Sacramento wants to dump his salary (for part of a trade exemption). The other main problem is that Lue makes 3.5 million so trading Tucker (930K) or DJ (430K) would be impossible salary-wise. The only option is trade exemption.

That would be wrong to offer Strawberry. Hes playaing so well right now and is showing promise for the future. He stays, Tucker goes

I would not want Lue if I were you guys. This guy will make some big shots but he is also a killer too. He takes a lot of dumb shot. He was the one person out of that trade the Hawks fans are soooooo happy to get off our team.

Whatever. If the Kings want a little something out of the deal besides the TE, I wouldn't mind. The Suns need to think now. I wouldn't be opposed to Anthony Johnson either.

The only way I would take lue is if the kings are just looking to dump salary. He isnt as good of a shot as you guys are saying, he just is known for hitting some big shots down the line(a la robert horry). While Im not opposed to bringing someone in who can hit a clutch shot, he would still be an 8/9th man on a team full of shooters.

The rumor of the Suns interest in Lue bolsters my confidence in Kerr even more. We all remember Lue's pesky defense on Iverson in the Lakers/Sixers finals. Yes, that was a while ago and whether or not Lue still has that ability is unknown to me. It does however prove that Kerr has recognized the Suns inability to guard the quick guards of their opponents and that he has a firm grasp on what the Suns need to win a championship. His shooting numbers are rather good as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing Lue get picked up if the Suns feel he is the best option at their price point.

The guy shoots almost 39% from three for his career and 43% this year. Sign me up.

exactly what i was about to say.

Might i also add that Lue has finals experience playing alongside shaq. Chemistry +10.

i hope that if we add lue, we still sign one of the guys who we had come in for workouts. we'd have 14 players and be 11 deep (assuming we still play DJ). that would be amazing for us.

Meanwhile, Dallas is attempting to move their depth and big man for a playmaking point guard with a more open court focus.

Oh the irony!

We should consider ourselves lucky if D'Antoni has a 9 man rotation. :p

DJ will probably be lucky to get a minute or two in garbage time periodically with 14 players.

Here's the actual quote from the linked article:
Yet Lue might not be long for Sacramento, as he has been pursued by Phoenix and Boston and could be used in any subsequent deals before Thursday's trade deadline. On that front, sources close to Denver said talks between the Kings and Nuggets about Ron Artest have recently restarted. The elements of a potential deal appear to be the same, with the Kings holding out for third-year small forward Linas Kleiza and likely requiring forward Eduardo Najera and his expiring contract.
It seems the Suns will have to compete for any available point guard with Boston. Also, since the TE cannot be combined with players, the best we could offer for Lue is a draft pick (which one, I wonder). I am also skeptical if Lue can do anything more than Banks.

I am more interested in Artest. If Kleiza is all they are looking for in return, the Hawks pick has got to look better than that (or maybe not). Either way, it looks like someone in the West might pick up Artest for next to nothing, while the Suns won't be interested due to his salary.

If Lue wasn't good enough to be a point guard for the Hawks, why would he be good enough for us? :p

If we make a trade using the Hawks pick, I'd much prefer it not be for someone who'll only be on the team for 3 months.
